Core Competencies Reflection
| Core Competency: _______Creative Thinking__
___________ I was able to show creative thinking in our DNA decoding assignment. We were required to decode a DNA sequence and then draw the coded instructions (the DNA sequence was telling you what to draw and the DNA sequence wasn’t real). I build on other’s ideas and add ideas of my own. When we were creating our drawings for the project I saw other students work and decided to use some of their ideas in their drawings and put it in my own. I have deliberate strategies to de-stress by taking deep breaths to clear my mind while advancing my ideas. When I feel overwhelmed or stressed by work I take a three minute break to draw or listen to music, it works for me. I have interests and passions and can pursue over time. I am currently interested in biology and tech. I am very interested in exploring the living life of earth, humans, animals and plants by watching TV channels and reading. I have applied the knowledge to interpret into normal life living. I have demonstrated a lot of creative thinking in Science.
Ways I want to improve are… I think I could’ve done my work more efficiently by concentrating more and choosing a quiet study place that was less distracting. I think I could’ve used more of my own ideas rather than using from others. I rushed the decoding part of the assignment and made some mistakes. Overall I could’ve improved and I think I did well. |
