Afrika Road Rap

Core Competencies Reflection

Here is evidence that I can… collaborate, teach, be considerate to others, discuss, contribute to class discussion, explain, justify, share ideas, etc.

Core Competency: Communication

Arman Ghorbani

I connected and engaged with other when our groups were first decided. I went out of my way to bring the group together and stay on task, all through communication. I displayed great cooperation by constantly juggling ideas and topics/subjects that we could focus our rap on. I acquire information when constantly reading and looking over the Afrika Road story for key information and topics that we could rap about. I collaborated and shared ideas with my group when presenting some lines together, instead of individually, which would be more emphatic in order to get our point across. I went out of my way to keep in touch with my group outside of school in order to work on the rap, and also to fix any mistakes and to polish our work. Through communication, I provided constructive criticism, creative ideas, and different ways to present our rap in a way that we could display our hard work and effort.

Ways I want to improve are…

I’ve noticed that I seem to take charge of my group so that others may have not had the chance to fully explain their vision of what they believe our rap should be about, how we should present it, and how we could improve it. Instead of being selfish and taking away the roles of others I believe that I should be more considerate to what others think, and how they believe we should improve our work.

  1. Hi Arman,

    Your mark: C
You have integrated media into your blog. You have demonstrated some examples of meeting a core competency in one paragraph. The assignment was to write three paragraphs: two paragraphs explaining how you demonstrated meeting a core competency and one paragraph explaining how you might apply it in the future. You could use more details in the second paragraph you wrote. Please feel free to email me a link to your updated blog, if you make changes and want the page marked again. If you need help you can come, see me in room 213 at flex.
    Ms. Hewitt
