Wood Bugs
This is a link to my Wood Bug project. To reflect on my project, I think that there were a couple things we could have done better. There were many things that we could have done better or didn’t fully understand on the criteria. I think if I could do this project again I would explain why we chose bacon for a future test, make more observations and make sure everything was properly labeled. Through this lab I learned more creative thinking, as my partner and I found it difficult to come up with somewhere to keep them during the lab as well as, later on, a way to keep the Wood bugs in their box. In the end I do think our project turned out very well and it was an interesting subject to work on an I hope to do one like it again.
Site C
This is a link to my Site C dam project. If I have to reflect on this project, I have to say I think my partner and I did very well. My partner and I put a lot of hard work and effort into making our arguments factual and accurate. I think that our arguments were well worded, thorough and well thought out. If we did this again I would definitely chose to the same position in regards to the dam being built, and I can’t wait to see whether or not they decide to go forwards with such a large and destructive project. In this project I had to use my critical thinking to a well-rounded and reasonable opinion. I have learned to assess the situation and try to remove bias from my sources. I enjoyed working on this project, as what goes on in the world interests me and I like to get a chance to form an accurate opinion.
Onion Cell Lab
This is a photo of the onion cell that we were studying. During this project I learned about communication, as I used new technology to complete this project. My partner and I decided to take a picture of the onion cell through the microscope for this project, which I had never done before. Yes, at first it was difficult, but eventually when I learned of the new advantages technology had given, I felt so grateful. It was so cool for me to be able to see all of the different phases of cell division, and it is so cool to be able to have that with me. If I were to change anything it would definitely be the explanation. If I were to do it again I would like to add more detail, to think a bit more critically. All in all, this project-and cells in general-fascinated me and I thoroughly enjoyed doing it.
