Wood Bug Lab

Wood Bug Lab-19dv7hr

This lab was very exciting because we got to learn from and work with living creatures. I was also interested to see how I can share a document so easily with my partner. My partner Jewel and I got to experience what it is like to experiment with wood bugs. It was very interesting to see how they would react to things, and how the acted. Before this I have never payed much attention to wood bugs and I enjoyed finally getting to study them. It also helped me learn about critical thinking as well as communication because my partner and I had to share ideas about how we can test the creatures.. Our experiment was to see how long it would take them to get to their food, and it was interesting to see how the different wood bugs reacted to having the food all around the. I was also fascinated to see that some would just stand there in the middle of the circle, while some would start moving towards the food right away. Before this lab I also enjoyed going outside to find wood bugs. I was not sure if it would be very easy to find them at first, however I just lifted up a wood stump and there was dozens under there. After this lab I can surely say I know more about wood bugs than I did before this experiment.

Arctic Ice Cap Assignment

After this assignment I can very much say that I know a lot more about the Arctic ice cap. At first, I knew very little about polar ice caps, I did not know much about them melting. I thought it was very interesting to learn what they are, and why they are melting. Also, I got to learn how they are affecting the Earth’s spheres. I learned that all of the damages on the spheres, interconnects them all together. I also think that this assignment helped me to learn more about each sphere. Before this assignment, I did not think that the melting of the ice caps would have all that many effects on the Earth. However, now I know that the effects are very alarming. This assignment taught me about creative thinking when I had to decide what format to dot the project in, when I decided to do a poster board.
