Core Competency Reflection Communication
I can work with others to achieve a common goal and I do my share. I showed that I could do that when, we first started the project we had to gather materials and we all had an idea of what to do. So we had to plan who would go get the materials for the project but everyone wanted to go get things. So we ultimately came to an agreement and said who would stay and work on the project and who would gather the materials. When we were first thinking what to do for the experiment there were some people that had some not so great ideas. Then there were some people that had good ideas but we couldn’t just tell them that are a terrible idea we had to disagree respectfully. That shows that I can recognize that there are different points of view and I can disagree respectfully.
In the group we each had to do certain parts of the written part and some people had to do the experiment itself. So we ended up separating each part between each other. We didn’t do it randomly we matched each parts with our strengths that we had like if you were good at using Excel then you would make the graph or if you were good at researching then you could do the habitat page. So we all ended up doing our fair share and that showed that I can take on roles and responsibilities in a group. Here is evidence I can recount simple experiences and activities that I learned. Like in this project we were supposed to make some kind of experiment that had something to do with wood bugs. Our experiment was if wood bugs like wood or plant environment. I learned that wood bugs in the end liked wood environment better.
I would like to improve on next time being more organized. Like in this project we started off really well but after we had more class time we kind of forgot about it and just moved on. Until the due date came around we finally remembered. We had to rush some stuff that we forgot to do and we ended up doing it last second. We still got it finished in the end but if we planned ahead and used our time more efficiently then we wouldn’t have to do it in the last second. So I would really just want to improve on using our time wiser next time and not leaving everything till the day before.
