About Me

Hi my name is Georgia, and this is my blog for school. My goals in life right now are to graduate high school and go one to have a post secondary education. I’m not sure exactly what I would like to do as a career, but becoming a nurse definitely peeks my interest. If I were to become a nurse I think I would like to work in paediatrics. Right now I play competitive soccer, and someday hope that I could get a scholarship for soccer to a university. Soccer is my main sport, however I also like to play, Vollyball and basketball. Most of my after school time is filled with sports, but I also like to draw, paint and scalped things out of clay.

My favourite quote is,                                                                                                                                                                        The only things you have to fear is fear itself.                                                                                                                                              -Frankiln D. Roosevelt                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       This quote is meaningful to me because it reminds me that fear is only present because we think its is and that fear is a state of mind. Once we realize that fear is in individual thought, we can change things in our life the fear controls, like having insecurities, not doing things because you scared of what might happen, missing out on opportunities, and realizing how small our fears are in the big picture of life. Fears are often one sides as well or worse for the thing your scared of for example, I am scared of spiders. Either the spider is not scared of me at all and has no intention on hurting me, or the spider is so much more scared of me than I could ever be of it, because all the sider knows is how not to die and as humans we threaten their life. Having fears makes out quality of life little worse, because we miss out on new experiences. Now I’m not saying that I am some perfect person and have no fears, because you already read that I’m scared of spiders and I know for a fact I could list off some more. All I’m saying is their is no such thing as a fear, its only a state of mind.

This video is meaningful to me because Sara did this project at my school last year. I loved working on my project because it was something I was passionate about, and something that I looked forward to working on. It never seemed like something I had to to but something wanted I wanted to do. When we showed everyone what we had been working on people were super nice and supportive about each others work and passions. This created new friendships, and made our school a more positive place. People stared to believe in them selves more, it was super nicest see this positivity in our school. Lots of students with different passions were uniting and becoming friends, and I don’t think they wound have if this project did’t happen. I know for a fact that during the project, my class become closer and by the end we were all good friends.

Youtube is my favourite website because it holds a lot of information. Whenever I’m not sure how to do my homework, I can always look up a youtube video to help me understand what I’m supposed to be doing. I feel that also I a lot of people my age get most of their information about what’s going on in the world from youtube.

This is Stephane Labbe from the Canadian woman’s national team. When I was little girl I used to always go the the Canadian woman’s games I found the team so inspiring, and it made me want to become a better player. Now days when I go see their games I look at her and I find it so amazing too watch her play, and to realized how much she has accomplished in her life. It makes me realize that if I work hard enough someday I can accomplish anything.

Great work! You have done a very good job putting together your about me page and have integrated your media seamlessly onto your page. Your comments are thorough without being too revealing and indicate a good understanding of digital literacy. Your sections all have details of relevance; you have embedded your video; created a clickable hyperlink to your favorite website and included your favorite quote, and why it’s meaningful to you.
