Creative thinking
Coming up with our wood bug power point. I had to come up with creative ideas to test our wood bugs. I think I used “building on other peoples ideas and adding new ideas of my own, or combine other peoples ideas in”. I used it when me and my group where coming up are idea to test the wood-bugs. They wanted to test if wood bugs like a dark or light environment. I added on to their idea by expanding and coming up with the new idea of what environment do wood bugs like. Which added do they like dry or damp environments too. Throughout this project I also think I “deliberately learned a lot about something by using a resource and talking to others”. While this project was going on learned a-lot about wood bugs that I never would have known before. For an example I learned alot about these wood bugs, I thought that the only liked to live in wood, but thought out this project. I learned that wood bugs like a dark and moist environment more than a dry and light environment. I think that I did very good on these 2 points.
Some of the reasons how I used creative thinking, is when I was generating ideas overtime with my group. I learned that when we where doing it I felt like it wasn’t enough so our group thought of new ideas overtime. It took us awhile but every great idea takes time to perfect in your mind. I also had to think of new ways we could collect the right environment after finding out I didn’t have very good materials for moist side of the environment. We had to “make our ideas work or change what we are doing”. So we went and brought the right type of dirt from our houses that would not dry out very easily.
I think I could have improved on some things with Social Responsibility. I think next time I can work on I “participating in the class room and doing work in the classroom”. For example when I was doing the wood bug project power point and write up in class I would easily get distracted by my friends and class mates. Which made it hard to get work done in the class room. I think that in the future when I’m in the class room I need to find a more quite place to do my work with less distractions, instead of wasting my time in class and just doing my work at home. I also think that I could improve on ” I can solve problems by myself”. for an example I would be lazy when I was doing my powerpoint. when I was doing my power point I needed to know how to input a photo and change the size of it. Because I just asked my teacher and she helped me, but next time instead of distracting her and wasting her time I could do it by myself. By asking a friend or looking it up on the Internet. In conclusion I think I did a pretty good job on this wood-bug assignment, but there are some small things I have recognized that I could work on for the next time.
