MY EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITY

Something I do as an extra-curricular activity is Air Cadets. I didn’t really choose to do Air Cadets, my mom just really insisted that I do so. My brother had done Air cadets for a year before I joined, and while he was at cadets, I just played games on his computer, so when my mom told me I should join, I was reluctant. Nevertheless, I still joined and the first year I ended up liking after a couple of months. I have been in Air cadets for about 2 years and 2 months. There are a lot of good things that I got, achieved, and learned from it. As for characteristics I’ve learned discipline, leadership, confidence, socials skills, and more. All these things have helped shape who I am a bit in one way or another, whether it be in demeanour, talking with people or other things. I’ve also learned lots of skills and knowledge from cadets such as drill, how to maintain a uniform, aviation, survival, and again, leadership and social skills. Drill, uniform and leadership and possibly aviation will help me in the military, and most of these skills will help me in my life now and in the future. I started liking cadets at first because of the drill, at the beginning I decided to join the drill team and of course, at first it was difficult, but it was something that I kept working at and trying to get better at, and that was the main aspect of cadets I first liked. I signed up for General Training which was a 2-week course you take during the summer and I was selected to go. During the course, we did a lot of drill which was tiring, but my favourite aspect of the training was the leadership positions. I tried out for Drill Team Commander which I did not get, but I got Flight Commander. Getting the role was a very proud moment for me and was a great experience. Although that was my favourite training aspect of the course, by far the best thing that happens in the summer training courses is the friends you make. You get so close to your flight-mates during those weeks, and you’re like family. Having to say goodbye at the end was very emotional, but the memories you make there are priceless, plus we still chatted on Instagram. This past summer I went to Basic Drill and Ceremonial Course which was also very fun with getting Drill Team Commander and of course making friends. My favourite part of cadets is the summer training courses because of all the experiences. Cadets as a whole, for me, were a great influence on me and I imagine that it will help me a lot in the military, and of course in daily life as a civilian.

Your extracurricular post includes the required elements. Really like the addition of your audio recording about Cadettes. The post is presentable though you could improve the overall appearance with more pictures or graphic features. Information includes details and examples that provide information about your involvement in your extracurricular activity. Subject knowledge is present and shows your interest in your activity.
