I had chosen Communications as my core competency because I believe I have shown major points if the communication aspect of the competency. The main idea of this project was to make parallel circuits and to understand how to do a science lab. My group had all contributed making the circuits and sway that went with it. Doing that we had asked each other questions on how to make the lab to best of our ability. The members of the lab and I had contributed positively and made a great effort to make this happen. If I or my friends got an idea, we’d talk to each other, motivating each other to offer suggestions. My partners had many ideas and we all made sure to listen but when someone’s idea didnā€™t benefit us as much as others, we politely denied them.

 

I am very outgoing myself and I can be confident speaking normally in all circumstances particularly in groups. My partners and I would get off task from time to time due to some of the suggestions we would share but we were able to exchange points about the subject for the most part, especially when we discussed making the circuits. Once we get off the taskĀ someone in the group would make sure that we would have time to do the work together in the class and remain prepared to do the work together.

Core Competencies: Communication

OneĀ ofĀ theĀ VennĀ diagram’sĀ mostĀ difficultĀ thingsĀ hasĀ beenĀ tryingĀ toĀ pickĀ aĀ topic.Ā We’veĀ sentĀ eachĀ otherĀ ourĀ thoughtsĀ forward. We worked each separately, and we came together and shared our thoughts to turn them into what we now have.

Critical Thinking

I had the chance to get concepts for the project. And I could look up the correct details I was looking for. As a collective, we were able to reflect on the ideas that we put together for the project so consensus Venn diagram. I was able to help my group if they had an issue on a topic and I could give them new suggestions for the questions. We used a collection of websites to use the research and divide it up to take notes from each site. We also used reasoning to see trustworthy sites around the web that use relevant and accurate information in our diagram.

How I can improve

We could have provided more detail. We use a lot of facts, but we could have added more. I think we had to bring more into our key ideas and have a little clearer details and some of our knowledge that we needed more detail, but I think it covered our subject quite well. Generally, I think we were doing a good job but with the diagram, we could have done a little better. We could have done better with the diagram style by adding colour to the diagram including inside pictures and more of their culture.

Communication Core Competencies

I had chosen Communications as my core competency because I believe I have shown major points if the communication aspect of the competency. The main idea of this project was to make a campaign video showing and telling why you believe your character best suits being president of the farm. My group had all contributed making the scene and poster for the project. Doing that we had asked each other questions on how to make the video and poster better and what we should add. My group members and I had responded greatly and made a great effort into making this project. When I or my fellow peers had an idea, we had listened and added or encouraged each other to give ideas. My partners had many ideas and we all made sure to listen but when someone’s idea didnā€™t benefit us as much as others, we politely denied them.

I myself am very outgoing and able to be comfortable to typically talk in all situations especially in groups. My partner and I would get off task from time to time due to some of the ideas we would share but for the most part, we were able to share points about the topic, like when we suggested making the other farm animals seem idiotic. When we were to get off task someone in the group would make sure we still have time to do the work in class together and stay organized to do the work. My partners and I are all pretty outgoing and are able to go up stage and present. We all contributed to the presentation part quite evenly and were all able to do it without hesitation.

As I said before me and my peers had all quite evenly contribute towards the presentation part. Even in the preparation phase, we all were able to do equal work and pull our own weight some did more than others, but it was fine. Earlier I had also said that we were to get off task and one of us would typically notice and make sure we get on task and have enough time to finish. I was a leader time to time but so were my partners, we all had to be a leader at some points of time. We were all pretty negotiable with our ideas, we would all give good ideas and were able to interpret our ideas.

My group and I would all receive the ideas in a good manner and were able to give ideas freely, doing so would let us all give feedback and build off of those ideas. These presentations and assignments had helped me in many ways. For example, to the presentation part of the assignment helped me boost my confidence even more, and the work part had helped me be more open to ideas due to how nice and open my partners were.

Extra Curricular Assignment

My Extra-Curricular activity is Basketball. I chose basketball even tho I’m not the best at it I still love it. I love to play this sport because of the adrenaline you get and how the team your on is like another family which makes me feel even more special. I have been playing basketball since grade 4, but I haven’t really gotten into it and haven’t taken it seriously till grade 8. I would love to get better and improve my skills but that takes time. I myself am I very competitive person which makes me good at basketball I get up and pursue whatever obstacle is in my way. I didn’t care to try out for the grade 9 team until my friend had persuaded me to at least tryout. Once the tryouts came I wasn’t confident I would make it then a few days later the roster sheet was put on the wall and my name was on the list. I was very happy to be on the team and ever since I’ve been trying and working as hard as possible to get better. This year my other friends had wanted to make a Tri-City team just for fun and I had signed up with them. Ever since we had made that team we have been playing just to have fun and have one every fight. This sport is so great mentally and physically, it’ll help you learn better strategies better, and keep you in great shape. Every chance I get to practice I take to get better.

Core Competencies Critical Thinking

I have chosen Creative Thinking because of these reasons. One of the reasons why I used critical is because I was very fond of my ideas which lead to good answers and questions for me and my partners. While we had worked on the French Revolution Radio report, both my group and I had both came up with ideas while following the criteria. Doing so helped all of us do the assignment and build off each other’s ideas to do the best we could. Once we made the script we reviewed and listed to everyone who had a new idea or something to add to make it better.

Things I would like to make this project better if I had another chance would be… One is to really consider the assignment and have everyone focus on it and not have me and another peer to lead and get people to do their parts. More things I would have liked to do different would be to have a bigger script and do double the parts for it to be the best of all our ability. Things we could have done a lot better would have more important questions and better answers. Something very key and important was to not leave it last second and not have us rush it.

The job description is she must be able to have project management skills, product vision, financial savvy, superior communication skills, and understanding of the agile process. The Vice President of Research & Development is responsible for a continuous flow of product research and innovation leading to the improvement of existing products.

3. What are the duties and/or tasks you perform at your job?
My Aunt’s task is to lead the team she has of 60 people and check if they are doing their jobs and to see if they need help. Some of the services they do are consulting services, Tech Services, and BI (business intelligence) services.
4. What qualifications do you have for this job in the following areas?

Able to adapt and learn how to use new tech.

She needs a university degree
c) experience?
She needs 20 years of experience and financial background
d) skills and attributes (personal qualities)?
She needs communication skills, she needs to be proficient, and persuasive skills.
e) What are some of the things you like about the job? She says she likes how much freedom she gets, all the travelling she does, and working with her team.
5. What are some of the things you dislike about this job? She dislikes when she has to work long hours. For example, she doesnā€™t like having to come in at 7 am then leave at 7 pm and then have to fly down to Portland or somewhere for business.

I think itā€™s super-valuable because it shows you the real world and how it works. It also lets you get to know your parents a bit more and see what they go through day and night. I find this also very valuable because it lets you experience working when your older and see if you would want to do something like that.

I had picked critical thinking because I had thought this core competency best suited my presentation and rap assignment. I think it best suits this assignment because the assignment involved lots of thinking and generate ideas/thoughts to make lyrics for the rap song. I also, think it suits this assignment very well because you have to experiment with different beats for the lyrics to best suit the beat. Making the lyrics I had to experiment and help my group members to make them and give them ideas that helped us all together generate ideas for lyrics. Doing this made us all contribute which made the lyrics even better. We would try and take a risk like changing the entire beat or background song to make it easier for some of us or make it sound better.

Ways I would love to improve would be like to generate more ideas for the presentation or better or longer lyrics. Making or developing more ideas for the presentation would help a lot because it will catch the teacher and audience attention a lot more and maybe they will find a lot more interest in the presentation. Having longer and more meaningful lyrics would help a lot because first off, this first presentation was very repetitive and slow to the point you couldnā€™t really have long lyric mainly due to the slow beat. Not having too meaningful lyrics put us on a little set back because it didnā€™t add much interest to it.
