Reflection:

I can generate ideas. I have demonstrated this when we were completeing our species project. While working in a group I was able to build on others ideas and add new ideas of my own, or combine other peoples ideas in. When I was working with my partner we would decide what questions we were each going to do and then share them with each other once we were done. We would then look them over and see how we could improve them in any way. If one of us were stuck on something we woiuld help each other until we found what we were looking for insead of getting frustrating. I also demostrated this when we got stuck, we were able to find new ways to find new things or solve straight forward problems. If one thing was not working we would try and make it work and if we really could not then we would find a whole new way of finding the answer.

I can also develope ideas. I can come up with my own or I can add to other peoples. I make ideas work or I change what I am doing. If I cant find the information I need I check as many other sites as I can until I find the information that I am looking for. After I find it I make sure the sight the information is on is a valid one and that the information is true and not fake. I build the skills I need to make my ideas work, and usually succeed, even if it takes a few tries. If something does not work I figure out how to make it work and then learn how to do it.  Learning new things help because you get what you need to get done for your project and you can use those skills on something in the future so that it is easier and does not take as much time because you have already done it.

Next time I could improve by using my time more wisely so that I could research more and incorpate more/better information. I could also spend more time on the visual and make it more appealing. Another thing I could have done was to ask people other than my partner how we could imporove our project. This would help because somtimes they can catch things that you may have missed or come up with new ideas that could improve out work. Putting more pictures could make it better as well because some people learn better from visuals/pictures instead of reading a bunch of stuff off of a piece of paper or document. I think I could have achieved any of this if I just focused better and used my time better. I could have also been thinking of ways to improve it while I wasnt working on it so that when I was ideas would come to my head better.

Reflection: 

While working on my animal project me and my group came up with ideas together and worked well together and very efficiently. We also added to each other’s ideas and made them better. During this project I learned how to work in a group better and how to communicate and build off of other people’s ideas. One thing I demonstrated was that I am an active listener and I support and encourage the person speaking. I did this by listening to whoever was speaking and giving positive feedback. I also listened to them when they had an idea to make my own ideas a bit better. We got a lot of stuff done in class and didn’t have to spend much of our own time completing this project. This is because we were working well and listening to each other speak and gave constructive criticism instead of arguing over little things all the time.

Another reason that we worked well together is that we all did an even amount of work. It wasn’t just one or two people doing all the work while the other people were doing nothing. This is also another reason that we got it done so fast and we were productive. We all worked until it was done and everyone was always doing something instead of being on their phone or talking to other groups instead of doing their own work. I also demonstrated that I can work with others to achieve a common goal, I do my share. We helped each other whenever we needed help and everyone was willing to help. Two people were working on our script and me and my partner were working on the poster. We would take turns drawing then fine lining and colouring it all in. We did our best to complete the project to the best of our ability and we all presented together and took turns speaking. 

Our presentation was well prepared and everyone knew what they were doing before we presented. We all had an even amount of talking and there were no long gaps between the speakers. It was a fun project to work on together and all together I thought it went pretty well. We practiced our speech multiple times before so that everyone was confident that they knew what they were doing and so they knew what to say and when. This also helped because since we knew what we were supposed to say nobody was very nervous which made it go smoother and took a lot of stress off everyone. Overall I think that it was very fun to complete this project and to work with the group that I was in.  

 

Skiing

In my extra time out of school me and family enjoy going skiing. It is a nice way to take a break from everything and just spend time together, without anything getting in the way. It also makes up for all the rain/snow and cold weather in the winter. Plus it is something to do outside while it is so cold since there are limited options. I also like being outdoors and the feeling of having a hot drink after a long day of skiing. When I used to live in Bermuda we clearly couldn’t go skiing since there was no snow. Then when we moved back there were so many new things to try and activities that we could do. We have been skiing for four years now and I love it. It is so much fun and there are always ways to improve so it doesn’t get boring. I enjoy it so much because there are so many new places to explore. Also if I could choose to be anywhere it would be to be outside, this is because it is so nice and peaceful. I also like being outside because it feels like I can get away from everything for a little bit and I love the fresh air. Skiing is also good because the trees that are covered in snow are so pretty and on a good day the sun is shining down. Skiing is also a good way to get rid of stress.

My Sonnet

Summer Sonnet 

The nice hot rays of sunshine shining down
The sound of the waves crashing on the ground
Waves crashing down sound like a big loud pound
And the kids playing make a lot of sound
Boats speeding through the crystal clear water
Cold drinks in our hands while having some fun
The sun is making everyone hotter
And for lunch we make burgers on a bun
The soft sand rolling around in the waves
We play with a beach ball to have some fun
When we go and explore we find nice caves
But everyone’s hangry when the days done
But after a bit we need some new fun
Winter comes and then summer is all gone

Core Competency: Creative Thinking 
Developing Ideas - I make my ideas work or I change what I am doing 

I have demonstrated this while I had to create my poem. Many things 
that I tried the first time did not work so I had to change it and 
come up with somthing else. While writing this poem there was alot ofspecific criteria that needed to be followed and sometimes it was 
challenging to follow them all. I found it a bit hard to make the 
ending words ryhme and also make each line 10 syllables, no more, andno less. Although it was challenging I was able to manage by making 
sure the last words ryhmed with the other lines that it needed to. 
After that I would fill in the rest of the line to make sure it had 
10 sylabbels. Working backwards helped because the end words were thehardest to come up with. The rest were challenging but not as 
challenging. It also helped me make my ideas work instead of just 
getting frustrated becasue I couldnt think of anyhting. 

The hardest part is that the Poem needs to have a specific rhyming 
scheme (ABAB, CDCD, EFEF, GG) and needs to be 10 sylablles long. It 
was easier to work from the end and make the words that need to rhyme,rhyme and then try to fill in the rest. I was able to change the 
words that did not make scense and made it so that it did and then I tried my best to fill in the rest until I could make it work. Insteadof trying to come up with another idea right away becasue the first 
one didnt work as well, I would amke it work or think of words that
meant the same thing but it was different. After I tried that and it didnt work then I would change it and come up with somthing totally
new. Coming up with this poem made me keep a open mind and forced me to be a little creative. It also encouraged me to have alot of 
patience since it was a long process but trying to make my ideas workinstead of giving up helped alot. 

Next time I can work on using different words that are a little more challenging and be more creative. I could also use my class time 
better which will give me more time to think abaout ideas and other 
words / ideas that I could use. I can also talk to other people aboutwhat I can do and other words I can use instaed of the ones that I 
have but wont work.  This will help me try and make the ideas that I have fit into the criteria. This is because sometimes you just need 
someone else to bounce ideas off of. They can help you a little bit 
as well which I think would help alot. It would make the process of 
writhing the poem go alot faster and it would make it alot easier as well.
