Invention project

Critical thinking/ invention project

while doing the invention project lots of things happened that relates to this reflection and I’m going to talk about a couple of them. I can reflect on and evaluate my thinking, products, and actions while I was making and creating my invention with my partner.  When we were making this, we did some critical thinking to find out details and specifications on our product. I can ask open ended questions and gather information, me and my partner asked others what their product was and asked what they struggled with in their daily life’s that was annoying. What people said was, it’s annoying waking up to an alarm clock, I hate making my own food early in the morning, and we also had somebody say that he wished that he had somewhere to put his ketchup when he eats fries in the car or on the go. We used the information that we gathered from our peers to build our own product (which is very helpful) “The duel holder”. The duel holder is a McDonald fry holder with a small cup sticking out so you can put your favourite condiment in it like ketchup, mustard, or mayo etc.

I can experiment with different ways of doing things. While me and my partner were making the duel holder, we tried different ways of making it. We started off with cutting little slits into the holder and folding the little cup to fit into those slits but that did not work so well. After that on the same day I tried gluing it to the holder but when you think about it maybe the glue could affect the taste of the condiment and or break into it over time. The day after we tried tape, tape was successful but it did not look the prettiest but at least it worked and did not have a chance of affecting your condiment. I can monitor my progress and adjust my actions to make sure I achieve what I want. I have shown this partly in the last question where I explain that I tried different methods for making the duel holder.

Me and my partner had the idea for the final product to paint it to look like a ship wreck, the holder would be water of the sea and the little cup would be the shipwreck. I can make choices that will help me create my intended impact on an audience or situation. I have shown this by getting my audience to give me Castonguay cash (fake money) to show the amount of interest towards the product. Me and my partner also got a few questions and complements like how much is it? How long did it take to make and is it only for mc Donald’s?. Some complements were, Great product, if I could get that at drive thru, I would get it, and kids world probably like it. I can tell the difference between facts and interpretations, opinion’s, or judgements. When presenting we got lots of people judging our product because of its use and how simple it was. Some people had different opinions about our product some people did not like it and some did. I think that I have shown a wide verity of core competence’s during this project.

Duel Holder proposal:

Close your eyes.  Imagine your at the Mc Donald’s drive through and you order your favourite meal with fries. You only like your fries with ketchup. But your driving and there’s no where to put your ketchup.  So the employee asks you if you would like a regular fry holder or the Duel Holder. And of corse you say the Duel Holder because now you can eat your fries with ketchup on the go. Now our product is not only convenient and ingenious but we can guarantee your satisfaction.

a) In my future I would like to be a programmer, why a programmer? Well ever since I was little I had a strong passion for technology and over the years my passion had grown so much that it got to the point where I built my own computer. I had so much fun building and learning about it that I wanted to make my own parts from scratch, this is why I would like to become a programmer. In the programming field to get a job you don’t need a degree in some cases but most of the time you need one, also you need to know algebra because for the graphics part of the coding that’s the foundation of the whole thing. Programmers make a amount of money that varies depending what type of programmer you are, for example a software programmer makes  134,960.79 for his or hers salary, then you have a game designer who makes 75,750 a year so I depends what field you go in. in the future will programmers be in demand? they definitely will be in demand because the future is based around technology and you need code in order to make that technology work to do its task.

This video explains that you could be doing the same thing as another guy but working for a different company and making almost or more than 100,000$, this relates to programming because as a programmer you can be anywhere in the world working for any company and making good money .another factor that comes into play is location, tech lead explains that you could be In japan and making only 60,000 a year when you could be in Switzerland making way more( explains that Switzerland pays well).
