About Me

About Me:

My name is Tyson and I am currently 14 years old, and I was born on May 19, 2004 at St. Paul’s Hospital in downtown Vancouver. I am starting high school going into grade 9. Things I enjoy doing in my spare time are sports, hanging out with friends, puzzles, and building things such as Lego. The sports I do are swimming, volleyball, hockey, ping pong, and tennis but my favorite two are swimming and volleyball. I enjoy spending time with my friends and my favorite things to do with them are watching movies, eating, and basketball. I may not be the best player on the basketball court but at least I try my best. Most people my age have out grown Lego, but I thoroughly enjoy it. It has taught me patience and focus and is a great skill to apply in the future.

Favorite Quote:

My favorite quote is by Steve Jobs; “If today were your last day on earth would you want to do what you’re about to do today?”. I chose this quote because it made me realize that life is short and you should spend every day like it’s your last. We should not waste anytime doing things that are not meaningful or productive to us, and we should do things that we enjoy that make us happy.

Favorite YouTube Clip:

I chose this video because I love swimming and it is one of my favorite sports, and Joseph Schooling as seen on the right has inspired me to make the Canada Olympic team. It has been a dream of mine for a while to go to the Olympics for swimming, and watching this video has taught me that you have to work hard to earn a position. It also taught me that if you get knocked down you have to get back up. Joseph Schooling went to two Olympics. The first one he attended he ended up not doing his best, which was at London in 2012. He talks about how he wanted to stop swimming, but then how he was able to refocus. He then ends up attending the 2016 Rio Olympics and finishing first in the men’s 100m butterfly. He was able to even beat Michael Phelps who has won 28 gold medals. This is an absolute amazing story that everyone should listen to.

Favorite Website:

YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/

I like YouTube because it allows you to watch virtually anything you want, sports, games, movie trailers, animals, and even listen to music. YouTube can teach a lot of things and can give great information about lots of things. It’s not just the website but also the people who do it. There are crazy things some people do like, sport trick shots, climbing tall buildings, pranks, and they even have world records taped. I like the fact that you are able to make a living out of YouTube as long as a lot of people follow what you do and enjoy it.

A photo that has impacted me is the half full glass. This photo taught me that people have the choice to look at something in a positive way or a negative way. The way we look at things is our decision. Depending on the way we look at them can say whether we are more positive or negative. It is a good thing that we learn to have a positive attitude so that we can be happier and be be role models to the younger generation. I believe that if we are more positive in life than we can lead others to be more positive as well.

  1. I really like how you have integrated various media (video, images, links) into your post. You have done a very good job constructing your page and commenting about yourself and your interests whilst still being mindful of your online presence. Good work. 5/5
