About me
My name is Abby, and I am a grade 9 student at Heritage Woods Secondary School. Outside of school, I play hockey and lacrosse. I have been playing hockey since I has five years old, and I havent been off the ice since. I play for the Tri – Cities Predators, and in the spring I play for the Vancouver Prospects. This past summer Team BC box lacrosse and I competed, and won nationals! It was awesome. Through playing these sports, I have been lucky enough to get to travel to great places, such as California, Toronto, Halifax, Winnipeg, and many more. Along my sports journey, I have also learned very valuable life lessons. I have learned respect, sportsmanship, and how to be a leader. I have also made some amazing friends. I feel that when you join a sports team, you have an instant new 20 best friends. I would encourage everyone to play a sport.

My favourite youtube video is the video above, by “On The Bench”. The On The Bench boys are minor hockey coaches for their local hockey team, and in pursuit of making hockey fun for everyone with their videos. I personally love their videos because they make me laugh, and I feel like I can relate to them, being a hockey player. My teammates and I watch their videos together, and we love all of their nicknames for actions like: celebrate – celly. I hope the On The Bench boys continue to make videos because they inspire people worldwide.
My favourite quote
“Just keep Swimming, by Dory from Finding Nemo”
I chose 
this quote because it reminds me the there are bigger things in life. I tend to stress over small things, and this quote tells me to move on and forget. In the movie Finding Nemo, Dory always forgets what she was thinking, or talking about. She uses this quote as a way for her to keep moving forward. I try to do the same.

My favourite website by far is the Apple website. I visit this website almost everyday because I love how Apple is always re inventing itself, and how they continues to come out with new devices that we never knew that we needed. I find it so fascinating how much power technology has over our society. For example, we use technology for almost everything we do. Whether it’s the scoreboard at a hockey game, or playing video games in you basement, technology is everywhere. I could go on about this topic, it is clearly a passion of mine.

nd its shell impacted me because it makes me sad when I know the our everyday garbage is killing innocent animals, such as turtles. It’s not only the turtles that are being killed, tis almost all sea life. Ocean pollution is such a huge problem, because we don’t know how to prevent it. It could take years to eliminate single use plastic, and years to take out all of the plastic in the ocean, and there is only more plastic being added. When I go to Starbucks I ether bring my own straw, or I don’t use one because I believe that we can help save our ocean one plastic straw at a time.
