Orange shirt day is Truth and Reconciliation Day, a day to reconcile and remember the indigenous kids that were forced in residential schools. It is important because it teaches us about those events so that we make sure things like that don’t happen again.
Canada has made a lot of progress in addressing the 94 calls to action. Since the recognition of the survivors of residential schools in 2008, the government has completed started 45 of these calls to actions, and 30 others have been proposed to start.
