Assignment 5 – Sway Multimedia Project
Digital Literacy DL10 Assignment 4
My first two months at Heritage have been amazing, I have met a lot of good people and made many friends. I have been liking my teachers and their positive attitudes, I decided to join the Jr Volleyball team and it was how I gained connections with some Grade 10’s. I have been enjoying the courses and the lessons that I have been through, this is mainly because of the teachers. All my teachers have been encouraging and kind this semester. Heritage Woods has met my expectations and more, I am lucky to have such an atmosphere and educational-wise, it is a step up from middle school.
Some of the advice that I would give my middle school friends, is to stay close to the friends in your grade because you will be going through high school with them. You should also make friends in each class so that you can help one another.
Make sure to be organized and keep track of all your ongoing assignments because it could get hard when there’s to much work at once. Imagine doing sports, hanging out with friends and juggling school.
Last but not least, stay calm when you come to high school. It can be nerve wrecking to some who are not so used to being in a huge building with thousands of students. Hallways are always packed with students switching classes.
I think that Heritage Woods is my ideal high school, I love the architecture and the choice courses that you can take. There is a lot of freedom for you to move around during lunch and pick the courses that you want to take, I am not used to this freedom because in Middle school there seem to be more rules for you to follow.

If it were up to me I am interested in every single elective, especially Business Ed. I enjoy the present style of the school right now as I have explained. My favorite part of the school is the gym, it’s a giant gym compared to my middle school, It is also very bright and welcoming. One thing that I would like is for there to be more open and welcoming spaces like the gym.
What am I interested in? I am interested in becoming a Biological Engineer, Some of the degrees that you need to be a Biological Engineer are Engineering, Science, and Biochemistry.
I would like to be a Biological Engineer because I am into science and like to study it. I enjoy chemistry and earth science and can’t wait to start learning about biological engineering and what it does. It takes 4 years for you to be able to become a Biochemical Engineering. Some career possibilities include Biochemical Development Engineer, Biomedical Engineer, Product Engineer, and Food Processing Engineer.
I hope you enjoyed reading my edublog!

Assignment 3 – Digital Citizenship Reflection
Orange Shirt Day
Orange shirt day is important because it reminds us that our ancestors and family had to go through something so terrible like the residential schools. This leads to the name of this day, Truth and Reconciliation. Truth for understanding that the residential schools really hurt indigenous people and their culture and reconciliation for a try and build back the trust that was lost when Canada allowed residential schools to ruin indigenous culture and change them into Christians.
I feel like Canada should be working harder to gain back the trust of the indigenous in my opinion they are doing ok with most of the projects in progress but it is very disappointing that only 13 of the projects are finished that means that 81 more need to be finished and who knows when that will be finished.
June 1st 2008 was the date that Truth and Reconciliation was established.
i. Developing and implementing Kindergarten to
Grade Twelve curriculum and learning resources
on Aboriginal peoples in Canadian history, and the
history and legacy of residential schools.
ii. Sharing information and best practices on teaching
curriculum related to residential schools and
Aboriginal history.
iii. Building student capacity for intercultural
understanding, empathy, and mutual respect.
iv. Identifying teacher-training needs relating to the
above.
This is act 63 this helps build my capacity for intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect by making sure that the history of the residential schools are taught to the kids and that the teacher has to be trained to explain the Canadian history of the aboriginal people.
