About me

Oh Hey, didn’t see you there!  What? You’ve come to learn about me? Very well then, listen closely…

My name is Adib and I am currently attending high school.  To start things off awkward, my favorite colors are probably a mix between vivid yellow, neon pink, green (in general) and light bluish turquoise which you probably don’t care about. Some of the things that I enjoy doing at home during my free time include drawing characters from mixed media, vehicles, and really anything that comes to my mind as a simple idea.  In my drawings, I like to practice perspective and details to help give my drawings that three-dimensional feel.  Other things that I enjoy doing in my free time include watching Youtube™, Making videos, doing graphic design (art on the computer) and playing video games.  I enjoy skiing during the winter and playing ping pong in my basement.  I also enjoy reading in my spare time.  My favorite animals are ducks if you haven’t noticed from my header image.  I also enjoy watching and analyzing blockbuster movies as I am a fan of comics and of film criticing as well.

What this quote means to me:

“Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly.”  – Lanston Hughes

I agree completely.  Like most inspirational quotes in the “follow your dreams” category, dreams are what lead the way for persistence.  Without big dreamers in history, our world would look a lot different today.  This quote even applies to us individually.  The above quote is saying “if those dreams die”, or if they never exist, “life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly”. Also in less metaphorical words, it’s saying that our lives can’t function well because those big dreams that we have, don’t exist to inspire or guide us.

Favourite video and it’s importance to me:

(Video by Solokiko on Youtube)

I can’t even remember how many times I watched this when I first I discovered it.  What makes this my favorite youtube video is that it incorporates some of my favorite things in my everyday life, and the result is this masterpiece of editing that took this person 4 hours straight to create.  The video itself is part of a genre of videos people make/edit which is taking various noises from, for example, a movie clip or video game in this case, and remix the sounds together to sync or even create an entire song.  Here the person only used reload and artillery fire sound effects from different characters in a first-person video game that I play called Overwatch.  In the game, there are multiple different characters that you can choose from to play, and each of them is unique in their own way including the sound effects that they make.  In this case, the sound effects are in sync with Emergency by Pegboard Nerds, which was my favorite song in back in 6th grade.  This video is important to me not only because of what I mentioned previously about incorporating all sorts of my favorite things in my everyday life (including video editing, art, electronic music, and Overwatch), but also the effort that went into making it.  Now I know that may have sounded very anti-climactic for being one of the reasons it’s my favorite video, but it’s just that I could imagine myself sitting down in front of the computer for nonstop 4 hours making this while learning at the same time.

Picture of importance to me:

During last summer, one of the primary aspects of my “vacation” was staying at home and working on personal non-academic projects.  Don’t get me wrong as I enjoy getting out of the house and doing nothing but relaxing on ocean shores, or whatever people perceive as “vacation”.  However, I found out this summer that drawing and doing graphic design projects are much more of a “relaxation method” for me.  This picture is the result of that discovery, relaxation with graphic design.  It is a picture that I made and am still working on using the program Adobe Photoshop.  Basically, I took a ton of 1080p images of different characters in poses from that video game that I play called Overwatch, which I put together, adjusted the lighting, and added a ton of lens flares to give it that Micheal Bay style in order to put it all together.

Favourite website:

Dafont.com

I chose Dafont.com as my favorite website mainly for its role of usefulness in my everyday life.  The purpose of the site is a web browsing source for downloadable fonts that people upload.  I use this website a lot to find that perfect font for my own passion projects (Graphic design stuff) as well as school assignments.

You have done a good job constructing your page and have integrated media and text quite well. A mark was deducted because you didn’t include a link to your favourite website, and an explanation of why you chose it. 4/5
