All About Me
Hello. My name is Adina and if you are reading this, you’ve probably come to the realization that I am a student in high school. I like to bide my time by playing piano, guitar, and the bass guitar. This is my tenth year in girl guides, having been in the program since the first year of sparks. I volunteer regularly with a variety of locations, and at this point early in the school year, I have accumulated more than 150 hours.
Like many others, I like to have money, so this is my sixth year of having a paper route. I’ve also taken to hand sewing items to sell in the future.
I like to memorize a variety of topics, whether it be the geographical, (with which I’ve memorized a fair bit of information from North, South and Central America), the names of all the sports teams in the NFL, NHL, NBA, or MLB, what name element name the symbols represent on the periodic table of elements, or miscellaneous.
Upon the completion of my high school years, I would like to attend UBC.
“Good, better, best. Never let it rest. Until your good is better, and your better is best.”
~Tim Duncan
I picked this quote because they can be seen as words of truth and importance. It is essentially saying that what you think your best is, can be even better, and to take action to make it better. It also insinuates that it is a never ending cycle, and you can improve all the time.
I picked this quote because I would like to become better and better at everything I do, whether it be academic, music related, part of my career, or otherwise. There will always be someone better than you at everything in almost every occasion, but one cannot allow themselves to become mediocrely below average at something, or remain with the same skill level when they have full potential to be better.
I do not wish to spend life without improvement, or remain or become subpar and mediocre at something due to lack of effort, or other such inane reasons.
I do not believe I could deem the following video as my favourite, especially considering I do not have a favourite video on youtube, as I do not spend hours and hours with my eyes glazed over whilst staring at a screen watching people injure themselves for a grand seven-hour timespan.
I can however say that I agree with the message this video is attempting to convey. (There was another video I would have preferred to use, but seeing as it was not on youtube, I could not use it.) I chose this video because I believe it is something that is true. As a society, I truly believe we can survive without excessive use of disposable plastic straws, for there are much better alternatives. I think that we should start to clean up the planet, because if you do not start now, it will never happen. We shall leave the world in a most atrociously distasteful state if we do not make amends to fix it. Not fixing it has long lasting effects that may lead to irreparable damage. That is not a world anyone, or anything should have to deal with.
I like this website because I like to learn random facts, and to be able to recite random facts on any occasion. I like to be knowledgeable of a broad range of subjects, and this website is full of a broad range of facts in one convenient location.
As one might expect, I do not usually have reason for knowing these facts, but at times, they can come to be useful.
This is an image of the aftermath of hurricane Harvey. This has affected me because it is a deeply saddening event to learn that people had to suffer through such a devastating event. To learn that families were torn apart, possessions were destroyed, and people have no place to live is a depressing bit of information. To make matters worse, this is only one of several natural disasters, including other hurricanes, such as Jose and Irma, as well as devastating earthquakes in Mexico, not to mention the wildfires, and the natural disasters occurring all over the world, as the aforementioned were in North America alone.
I am eternally grateful that neither anyone I have come to know, nor myself, has had to suffer through such a calamitous occurrence.
Great work! You have done a very good job putting together your about me page and have integrated your media seamlessly onto your page. Your comments are thorough without being too revealing and indicate a good understanding of digital literacy.
