Acts

The first image represents the pain and suffering that children in less developed countries face.  Millions of children are severely malnourished and without the help from organizations like Unicef, Me to We, and World Vision probably all of the children would die. However, with the help from kind organizations they save millions of    lives.  The second image represents the saving of a life, they are holding a packet of rutf,  a miracle food that can bring that child out of malnourishment and into a healthier life. There are many ways organizations help people in third world countries, but specifically to help malnourished children, an organization called Mana Nutrition produces rutf which is a fortified peanut paste that is shown in the photo. They are partnered with World Vision Canada, so they make the rutf and World Vision distributes it. They are working to end the painful starvation that these children go through and give them a chance at life.

This is such an important cause and they are actually saving the lives of children. This kindness is amazing because even though the referenced organizations are based in first world countries with their own issues there are large groups of people who want to help others far away from them. This is important to society because for the societies that are being helped it can alter their lives. For our society it brings awareness and encourages us to help. This is very important to me because I have always felt sympathy for people struggling in third world countries and the desire to help them. With Food for Famine Society, Mana Nutrition, and World Vision I have been given the opportunity to learn more and help malnourished children by doing physical activity not just donating money. I have heard so many stories about malnourished children and learned so much from being apart of the move 4 mana team that this cause truly means a lot to me.

I chose this image because it shows scientists working hard trying to solve a problem. Without the service of scientists who knows where the world would be, definitely not as evolved in any field as we are today. There are many types of scientists and have been through time and because of their service we are able to live the lives we do. The discoveries by the service of scientists is outstanding and affects everyone. For an example if you have strep throat you take an antibiotic to treat it, and we know that antibiotics are used to treat a bacterial infection like strep throat because scientists figured out the differences between viral and bacterial infections. Antibiotics are used to cure many infections, this is due to Alexander Flemming who discovered penicillin which was a major game changer. This is important to me because I have a condition which makes me much more susceptible to getting headaches, so I usually always have one. I have had this since I was very young and antibiotics are a great relief for me because I am able to take ibuprofen to help me.

This image represents the remembrance of those who have fought in a war and those who have fallen in battle. Remembrance is important for us to acknowledge the sacrifice and hard ships of those who fought in a war.  Remembrance is important to society because we look back upon our country’s history and for many a family member was involved in a war. We have ceremonies on November eleventh to remember the sacrifice that millions gave for us to be living the life we do now. This is important to me because I believe that we all need to pay our respects and honour those who fought for their country.
