About Me

I spend most of my free time either playing video games, or programming them. I am currently trying to beat FTL, since I have never been able to do so before. I prefer to play strategy games, and don’t play many multiplayer games. In terms of programming, I am currently making a game about trading in C++ using SFML. Making a game in C++ is something I have been working towards for several months, but I still haven’t made much progress.

“Talent is a pursued interest. Anything that you’re willing to practice, you can do.”
― Bob Ross

This is my favourite quote because although it may seem that somebody is a lot more skilled at something than you are, you always have a chance to catch up. As long as you stay motivated and continue practising, you can be just as good, or even better, than them. This also shows that you don’t have to be good at something to be able to start doing it, and get better at it. I had no experience with programming until I decided that I wanted to learn how to in grade 6. If you follow your passion, then you can do anything.

This is my favourite video for a few things. For one, it provides a very interesting explanation of thinking in higher dimensions. It also shows a very interesting paradox at the end: in higher dimensions, when you fill a box with spheres, the largest sphere you can have in the centre is larger than the box holding it. It explains something as unintuitive as more than three dimensions, but uses a one-dimensional slider to explain it.
This is the first website I have published, and as such, it’s my favourite one. It’s a rather simple drawing tool, and I made it mostly as a challenge to myself. I wanted to see if I could make my own coding language in javascript, and that website is the result. It took me about a week to get it to the state at which it is right now, but I plan on improving it later.

The Hubble Ultra Deep Field is an amazing image for several reasons. The Hubble Space Telescope was pointed at one of the emptiest regions of space, then zoomed in as far as possible to take this image. Hundreds of galaxies were in that empty patch, with most invisible to the naked eye. The HUDF is as far as we can see into space using just visible light. The universe is expanding so fast that all the light has been redshifted away.

  1. I really like how you have integrated various media (video, images, links) into your post. You have done a very good job constructing your page and commenting about yourself and your interests whilst still being mindful of your online presence. I would suggest adding headings for each of the video, picture etc. to make this more visually appealing. Good work. 5/5
