In Socials, we were in groups and chose a decade of focus to research important events. Our group chose the 80s decade. Some of my events I researched were abortion legalization, Terry Fox marathon of hope, and prominent figures in the 80s. I learned a lot about the big difference between the 80s and the current decade, even though it’s only a less than 40-year difference compared to some groups who had a 70-year difference. I used a lot of critical thinking to find information for the project. It was a long process of researching what important events and culture were in the 80s. For our actual presentation, I used a lot of creative thinking as well, because our presentation turned out to be very fun and different. We created a skit and used a lot of 80s lingoes to make it complete.
