What is Orange Shirt Day and why is it important?
The Shirt Society is a non-profit organization that aims to create awareness of the individual, family, and community inter-generational impacts of Indian Residential Schools through Orange Shirt Day activities. Summarize in your own words Canada’s progress in addressing the 94 calls to action.
IN March of 2018 CBC News a popular news station and website had launched a website that monitors progress on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action called Beyond 94. Out of the 94 18 are not started wet, 31 are in progress (projects proposed), 32 are also in progress (projects underway), and 13 are completed.

Why and when was a National Truth and Reconciliation Day established?
September 30th, 2013; Orange shirt day a grassroots campaign was founded by Phyllis webstad. In June 2021, the Government of Canada passed Bill C-5 to make September 30 a federal statutory day. It is observed and seen as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation; It is important because it ensures that public commemoration of the history and legacy of residential schools remains a vital component of the reconciliation process and it honors survivors, their families and communities.

What is one thing you learned about the Kwikwetlem Nation and our shared land? (For example, how was the name derived? How far does the territory extend? Explain a little about them.
The word Kwikwetlem means people of the water, at a time the Kwikwetlem river the river was so abounded with salmon it gradually turned red, Kwikwetlem territory centers on Kwikwetlem water shed which extends from Kwikwetlem lake down to Kwikwetlem river to the north shore of the Frazer.
