For this assignment, I had to choose a picture of the website PicLits.com and write a poem which corresponds with the picture. We had to use one of each of the following literary devices in our poem: simile, metaphor, personification and alliteration. I had to think creatively during this assignment because I do not usually write poems, so I had to really think hard to formulate an idea. I eventually chose a photo and had a clear idea of what I was going to write about. I decided to write about a person conquering a mountain and finally making it to the top. After this assignment, I feel more confident about my creative thinking skills and I would love to do this type of assignment again.
What Would I Do Better Next Time?
Next time, I would maybe challenge myself a bit more by choosing a bit photo that is a bit more obscure and harder to formulate a story about. This would provide a bit more of a challenge and possibly be a bit more fun. Overall though, I feel like I have done well on this assignment and that the picture matches the poem.
