I would like to learn many things in English this year including some history, grammar and more. Firstly, some history. I would like to learn some more about the origins of the English language and about factors and/or people that have influenced the language. I would also love to learn about poetry, and would like to get the chance to write and read different types of poems. Also, learn about some influential poets and perhaps how they affected modern poetry. Another thing I would like to learn is perhaps some more advanced grammar and literary devices than we have learned in previous courses. Also, it would be cool to be able to read and comprehend old, Shakespearian texts and scripts. I would also like to learn to properly use formal writing, how to structure formal letters, etc. Finally, I would like to improve upon my cursive writing, and improve upon my normal print as well, as we write more and more.
