This semester I really want to learn about Shakespeare, novel studies, expanding my vocabulary and the history of the
language. My top favourite is probably novel studies because I enjoy reading and answering questions about it based on my
opinion. I also really want to learn about Shakespeare because I never had the opportunity. I am very interested in reading
the stories he composed. Also I want to learn about the history of the language I haven’t heard a lot about it and and I think
it would be really cool to learn where our language originated from, and how it changed throughout time. Lastly, I want to
really focus on expanding my vocabulary. I have noticed that sometimes I use the same words a lot and I want to widen my
terminology. The main thing I don’t want to learn is the easy basic stuff such as punctuation, how to write a paragraph, etc. I
have had to learn this stuff every year since grade 1 and I find it very easy. I would much rather do something to challenge
myself with something harder. I have always been very advanced with reading so I am looking forward to reading longer,
more mature books. I also really like group projects. I like it when the teacher chooses groups sometimes so that I can meet
new people and get to know everyone in the class better. I am very excited to grow and expand as an English student. I am
also looking forward to learning new things about my peers and forming new relationships with them. Another goal is to
become a better, more flexible writer. I often find myself with writers block when told to write a story. I hope to expand my
mind and just have many ideas stored there so when it comes time to write, I have plenty of options. I also want to improve
my public speaking skills. Sometimes when presenting I stutter, or lose my train of thought. I really want to fix this as I think
in the future people will take me more seriously, and I will appear more professional. I want to work in groups because I
want to work with many different people. I hope that by the end of the year I will have worked with everyone.
Communicating is a vital part in our everyday lives and I want to focus of combining and convey our ideas together.
