Photo 9 – Shutter Speed

This first picture demonstrates a blurred subject with focused background. This was the first shot I took using shutter speed and it was a little challenging figuring out what I should change it to in order to get the desired effect. I learned how to set the shutter speed correctly. I like how it is clear to see that she is jumping. I could have improved the shutter speed and made her a little more blurry because I think her pose isn’t ideal.

This second picture has a blurry background but focused subject (crow). It was taken while the bird was taking off from the ground. This was definitely the most challenging picture to take because for the others you didn’t have to move the camera at all, but this one you had to keep the subject focused and move the camera at the same time. It took me around 3 days to get this shot. I could have improved this by having the wings more focused because it would have demonstrated this specific shutter speed better.

This last shot was demonstrating frozen movement, in this case the leaves were frozen and falling down from the sky. I had Termeh throw the leaves up and got the shot at the perfect time. I set the shutter speed very fast to achieve this. It was only challenging trying to get the leaves in the frame at the right time. I could have added more leaves and tried to got them more spaced out and filling the frame with leaves.
