  • Design codes
  • Debugging

  1. What qualifications do you need for this job in the following areas:
    1. Training?

Yes, through educating youself through university and getting a degree in this area.

  1. Education?

Computer science graduate.

  1. Experience?

At least 5 years of software development experience.

  1. Skills and attributes (personal qualities)?

Thoughtful, patient and intelligent.

 

  1. What are some things you like about this job?

You can directly see what achievements you’ve accomplished through the machine after you run it.

  1. What are some things you dislike about this job?

The pressure of completing a software in time. Time management must be perfectly on time or it will set up a bad reputation for yourself. This could lower your salary.

 

  1. How do you think this job might change in the next 5-10 years (technology, etc.)?

There will be more advanced technology to use in the future. Though it might become more difficult to find a job as the demand arises more everyday.

Part 2: Reflection

  1. Give 3 reasons why you like this job (be specific):
    1. It has decent pay and good promotions
    2. You can work at home (my dad does) making it convenient to eat and use the washroom whenever you need.
    3. Pretty flexible schedule. One day you can work 3 hours and the next you can work 10. It’s all about getting the task you’re given done and completed on time. So it doesn’t matter how long you spend working on it each day.
  2. Give 3 reasons why you might not like this job (be specific):
    1. Very high demand and difficult to learn.
    2. Requires good mathematical abilities and patience. (both in which I don’t have)
    3. Not interested in this field of work. I am not interested in computer science and sitting infront of a computer for the rest of my life.

 

  1. Is this job for you? Why or why not?

No because I am not interested in computer science. I already have another future planned for myself.

  1. How is technology and digital literacy used in this job?

Digital literacy is used because you must learn coding skills and the different languages for each application. You must also learn the solutions, concepts and latest technological advancements.

  1. Explain the value of your TOKW experience in relation to your ideas about your plans after high school.

I know for a fact I will not be going down the same route as my dad because the environment just seems so depressing. I do not want to be sitting in front of a computer from 9-5 to earn a living. I want my life to be less restricted where I can do more than just one thing. I also want to make an impact on people directly.
