English has always been a subject that I have been fond of, but I’ve wanted to apply myself so I can do better. Throughout this next semester, one of my biggest goals is to improve my formal writing skills. I would like to learn how to properly and formally write an essay. I’m not quite sure how to do this so I hope that I’ll learn this in English 9 because my sister told me I would have to write all my essays in formal writing as she is in grade 11 and I guess knows what she is talking about. I would also like to improve my expressive language and vocabulary skills so that my creative writing can become more intriguing to read for myself and others. A way that I know I can attempt to accomplish this goal is by reading more books with challenging vocabulary so I will be able to incorporate this vocabulary in my day to day life and writing. One challenge I can see in accomplishing this goal is that I only like to read books that interest me, so if I find a book I like then great as I am able to read it with no difficulties, but if it’s boring there’s basically no hope in me finishing it except in extreme circumstances.

In this project I used I critical thinking because I had to make critical choices in what parts of the book I would include to best show my understanding of the book. I also use creative thinking to come up with unique pictures as I see the book. I learned that I should not procrastinate and always work hard until I finish it because this project left me with a lot of homework.

Reflection

I used creative thinking to make a powerful and moving propaganda video about Old Major running for leader. I used my creative ways of thinking to create a unique video from the rest of my class. In this project I was very good at not procrastinating and using my time wisely so that I could finish the project and have time to jus finalize and not have to worry.

Reflection

In this project I used creative thinking because I had to use new and different ideas on my freestyle poem about life. I had to creatively think about how I was going to meld my poem and picture to create a masterpiece. I demonstrate creative thinking because I made the poem with original ideas to me. My strengths in this project were coming up with a lot of ideas associated with life but I would like to improve my ability to write poems faster and more efficiently.
