This year in English my goal is to improve on the neatness and consistency of my writing. I would also like to become a bit more of an avid reader. I would also like to get in the habit of wanting to read instead of being forced to. I think I am on the slower side of reading because I take a while longer to comprehend, so I feel that if I read more ofter my speed will increase and with that I will comprehend faster and more easily.
Another area I would like to improve in is my grammar. I am pretty awful at spelling and for some strange reason I always get confused on which is American spelling and which is Canadian, for example colour… did I spell it right? Also, I would like to enhance my vocabulary by using words to substitute words like, “like” and “there’. Finally, I would like to add strategies to my tool box for memorization. I realize that other than in performing skits and writing tests, there may not be many opportunities for memorization in this course, but I hope there is.
