Cloning Poster

Digital literacy Self Reflection

On this reflection I will be explaining how my partner and I have used the Core Competency Communication. We both used good communication skills within this project. We listened to each other’s ideas and wrote it down on a piece of paper. We discussed about whether an idea is good or bad, with respect and politeness. For example:

  • When we didn’t agree on something, we talked through it.
  • When one of us had a question, we answered it without judgement.
  • We both talked to each other before doing anything.

We made sure that we listened carefully to one another and didn’t get distracted by things. When we did, we had a stronger project because we were able to collaborate our ideas with understanding. When we express our ideas, we can add on to it and create an even bigger idea. We both were engaged and concentrated on our project which helped us get a good outcome.

When we had idea’s, we were able to clearly express them. We would give examples and aim to make the idea easily explained. Three of the many things we did to convey our thoughts were:

  • Drawing our idea.
  • Tell it step by step.
  • Explain the idea thoroughly.

We found drawing our ideas was the best strategy. The reason why is because we were able to visually describe our ideas. Our project was a poster, which is a very visual assignment. So, with the help of making a drawing, it will give us a sense of what we are thinking about.  Because of this it allowed us to interpret both of our views of the project together.

When we worked together, we made sure we had a fair share of work. We would each bring the poster home an equal amount. We told each other specific things to do when we worked on it at home. For example, we would say:

  • Work on the title.
  • Colour in the grass.
  • Add something more in this space of the poster.

During the weekend we collectively met up at the library to consult about the project. We would plan this by texting each other and asking each other when we are free. This was a very easy way in communicating what we needed to do. With technology it makes many things effortless when it came to asking a question or reminding each other things. I believe we worked very hard at this project and that we showed this competency very comprehensively.

This photo is blurry so I will write what it is saying in many places.

  • Underneath “it” it say “Is immortality worth it?” and “Cloning=Immortality”
  • Underneath “Hurts” “Immortality=Over-Population” “Over-Population=Global warming”
  • In the grass it says “the average temperature went up 1C. It already has effected us badly. If you support learning, you DON’T CARE about the importance of our planet”

  1. Good work. You have properly integrated your media into your blog and used an appropriate format to present your assignment. Information clearly relates to a core competency. You include several supporting details and/or examples of how you demonstrated the competency.Your reflection is organized with 3 well-constructed paragraphs which do a good job of communicating your ideas. Your paragraphs use the language of the core competency to describe how you addressed the core competency and how you will apply it in the future. Please feel free to email me a link to your assignment in the next two weeks, using your district email account if you make significant improvements in using the language of the core competency to add more details and support and would like me to take another look at it. If you need help you can see me in room 213 at flex.
