Reflection
I believe that this project really helped me understand the process of meiosis through use of materials, which i don’t usually learn through nowadays. That being said, even though I wasn’t used to expressing my knowledge through different materials, i think that i demonstrated the core competency of critical thinking, and i chose to do the prompt of “I can experiment with different ways of doing something”. Not only (as i said before) the way of learning the process of Meiosis a different way for me but presenting my work this way was also a bit out of my usual comfort-zone. I don’t usually present my ideas through video format, and although my videography skills are not the best i tried hard to demonstrate the process of Meiosis with the instructions we were given through a video. Also something that i demonstrated a-lot in this project was “Taking on roles and responsibilities in a group”. I ended up taking on the role of creating the video for my group and typing out the definitions of each stage, as well as setting up the materials to take the pictures in the video. Next time, i believe a thing my group and i could work on would be ” I can present information in a clearly and organized way” because now looking back at the video the photo quality is not as good as i would have hoped it would be and the video looks a little bit rushed.

Reflection:
I am very happy with how Emaan and I’s poster worked out. We chose to do our poster on the NWC company, and i think that we displayed our knowledge on this topic well. The category that i believe we displayed is in the communication category. The prompt that i will be using is “I can work with other to achieve a common goal; i do my share”. Both Emaan and i contributed all of our ideas and worked together really well when coming up for information to put on our poster, therefore thats why i chose the topic of communication. A competency that i would like to improve on is through the topic Critical Thinking, and is being able to monitor my progress and adjust my actions to make sure i achieve what i want. Although we finished the project in time, ill admit that we did procrastinate a little bit.
American Revolution video
Reflection:
In this project, I believe that my group and I thoroughly explained and showed The Sugar act of 1764 and the Stamp act of 1765 to the best of our abilities. Some of the competencies that I displayed while partaking in this project were; “I can get new ideas or build on other peoples ideas to create new thoughts” and “I can monitor my progress and adjust my actions to make sure that I achieve what I want”. These prompts were taken out of the Critical and Creative thinking section, and I think they best describe what occurred while creating this video.To begin, I used my creative thinking while my group and I were coming up for ways to display our knowledge of the Sugar and Stamp act. We weren’t quite sure of whether or not to do a modern reenactment, or and old fashion one, but after sharing perspectives and thoughts we came up with what we have (which worked well for us!). The next thing that I was able to show in the critical thinking department was being able to realize when I was on task, or off task. To be honest, there was a few times when my group and I were procrastinating and not getting much done (something I want to improve on) but I was able to realize this and help bring us back on track to get stuff done. Lastly, a thing that I would like to work on for next time (besides staying on track) is trying to delve even deeper into the history so that we can portray even deeper levels of knowledge in the video. Overall, I am very happy with how the video ended up and how well my group members and I co-operated!
Heart rate experiment- Science
Reflection:
In this science project, I not only learned how to measure ones heart rate, properly draw a graph and learn many new facts about the heart, but got to meet new people in my group and collaborate with others. I was most definetley able to use the competencies of taking on roles and responsibility’s in a group, being able to produce ideas, and being a respectful and open minded member of my group. For roles and responsibilities, I took these in by tracking our data while doing the experiment, putting this data into a graph form, and finding many facts about the heart. Nextly I produced quite a few ideas for my group such as how we will track the heart rate, the excercises etc. That being said though, I was an open minded member of my group accepting all ideas and trying to make sure that everyone got what they wanted. I was respectful to my group members and was co-operative and easy to be around. Overall, I am very pleased with this project and the end result. I learned many new things about the heart as well as believe that I showcased the core competencies. My group and I worked very hard on doing this project to the best of our abilities and I think that this project was a great way to start out the semester in science!

During this essay, I believe that I displayed the core competencies of Generating ideas, analyzing and critiquing, and person value and choices. To begin, I think that I used the creative thinking competency of generating ideas. This was used in my brainstorm for my essay. In the first stages of planning my essay, I was a little bit stuck when it came to ideas. But, once I started my brainstorm and had came up with the values, it was smooth sailing. Coming up with my values, I think that in most definitely used the competency of personal values and choices. Lastly, analyzing and critiquing. I believe that this was most used in the editing process of my essay. I was able to take constructive criticism, as well as was willing to change my writing for the better. I also used feedback to my advantage.
What I want to learn in English 9

English 9
History, Shakespeare, poems, writing, and art; just a small glimpse of things that I think of when I walk into English class. As a class that can basically weave into every field, I not only have a few ideas about what we are to learn but am exited for what I can take from it. Whether its skills and techniques, to reading and gathering information, these are just a few things I would like to learn and take from English 9.
First things foremost, I definitely would like to dig deeper into the history and origin of the English language; how it progressed, evolved, and branched out to create other languages. Secondly, when I walk out of English 9 I would like to have a more solid understanding of writing-creatively and essay based. Also, I would like to work on my grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Something a bit uncommon that interests me is how art can connect to English class. I have grown to learn that many pieces of art have a story behind them, whether it is modern art or something from ancient artifacts and history. Lastly, I would enjoy learning about poetry and how to write it, as well as be introduced to famous authors such as Shakespeare, Charles Dickens etc.! To conclude, there are many things that I expect to learn and am eager to gain more knowledge about.
