Coe competence used: Creative Thinking

For this assignment, we had to make a campaign for one of the characters in “Animal Farm” by George Orwell. I used creative thinking on this assignment in many areas. One area is how I thought of making the video. I thought that as it is a campaign video I should research different campaign videos from both winners and loser, I looked at Obama’s, Donald Trump’s, and Hillary Clinton’s campaign videos. What I noticed from all three was how they addressed issues, Donald Trump talked about the problems in America whereas Hillary talked about the solutions. Both had very different views and I thought that being more positive would provide us with the votes. Another time I used Critical Thinking was when I was making the poster. What I did was incorporate things that I learned in Business class onto the poster, for example, I decided that we should use a clear straight to the point approach. This is effective because people don’t want to sit there reading a long text and a “short and sweet” statement gives them all the information they need right then and there.

One of the things I could have improved on was the planning stage. What I needed to do was plan out space and sizing before I printed and drew everything out. If I had done this then there wouldn’t be as many gaps on the poster.
