This project was an assignment for Robotics 11 where students were required to use a CAD software to print an object with two moving parts that is small enough to fit within a Kinder Surprise Egg. For my project, I decided to create a truck that could open and close its trunk. Because of this project’s open-ended nature, I was able to utilize creative thinking when creating and designing this 3D creation. Although I had the idea for how I wanted the outcome of this project to be, the execution was not up to my standards. If I were to redo this project, I would sketch out a design on paper first to list the dimensions and make the truck closer to scale to those in real-life. In the image above, it is apparent that the wheels were too large for the chassis of the automobile; if I had sketched the design out, there would have been a higher chance for me to realize this incongruity of the proportions.
