I chose this flag because most of my heritage comes from Czechoslovakia and Canada I have great grandparents who have heritage from Ireland but we don’t really talk about that heritage or celebrate Irish holidays or traditions. We do a lot of Czech traditions mostly like making Czech meals and baking goods from there. I chose Czech along with the Canadian flag because my Czech heritage is closer than my Irish heritage because my mom is from their and I know more family from there. I chose Canada because I was born and raised here so it is very important to include on my flag.
Did I divide it up ?
I did divide my countries up in my flag I created because I wanted to show my two most important heritages. I put a larger portion of the Canadian flag then the Czech flag because I am more Canadian then I am Czech.
Why I identify with this heritage ?
I identify with this heritage because my mom’s side of the family is from Czechoslovakia and my Czech heritage has influenced my life style today, I also identify with Canadian heritage because I am proudly Canadian it is where I was born where I grew up I have been living here for so long caught on to Canadian habits and traditions so really why wouldn’t I identify myself as Canadian.
reflection
with this assignment i used critical thinkng by asking my parents questions about my heritage i also used creative thinking when i was combinign my different heritages in the flag and figuring out creative ways to do so. i think that in this assignment i improved in my writing and creativity because i was interested in the things i wrote about so i was more motivated to to a good job on it. but i can also improve on explaining my thoughts better and making my story more clear so that people can understand my writing better. with this assignment it was hard to write about because i did put czech heritage in my flag but that is because my mom is czech i dont really know any other heritage of mine that well but i dont have to much information about my czech heritage either because i am mostly canadian.
