With this assignment, we were tasked to select symbols, events, and other attributes from our novel to represent a character from our book. I decided to choose the protagonist’s mother, Lindy. Lindy left Dec, Sunny and her husband, Bernard when she was twenty-nine, leaving no explanation. This intrigued me to learn more about Lindy’s character which is why I chose to challenge myself with this assignment. I had to critically think about what items to include and write details explanations on why I chose that item. This project also challenged me to be creative. I remember a few nights before the due date, I was staring at my shoe, with no idea of what I would do. The shoe was a blank canvas, and I was tasked with this responsibility to create a piece of artwork. I am very proud of my final product and I got a lot of compliments on the visual look of it. I think I chose appropriate items and was able to represent Lindy in a creative way.
