My goal at the beginning of grade 10 was to focus on myself. Who am I and who do I want to become?  Over the course of the past few months, I have learned a lot about who I am as a person as well as who I am as a learner. In this post, I am going to go over some assignments that I have completed so far this year and also explain what I have learned about myself along the way.

In Career Life Education 10, we discussed different learning styles, personality types, and focused on what we want to do in the future.

Above is a photo of my “Me” card. This assignment is a great example of the core competency, personal awareness and cultural identity because we had to document our personality onto a card using images. This project allowed me to understand what I am passionate about, the specific values that I cherish, the skills I have acquired, and what I want to do in the future. I think it is so important to reflect on your life, but also to set reachable goals that you can work to achieve. In CLE 10, I learned how to create those reachable goals and find methods to reach them.

This was my first photography project in grade 10. We were tasked to create a self-portrait that incorporates multiple aspects of our personality (i.e. our favourite things, family, places). I think this project demonstrates both personal awareness and cultural identity, and my creative thinking skills. As mentioned before, we were asked to put photos that would tell the viewer who we are. When choosing my images, I knew I wanted to use photos of my family, friends, and nature because those are three of the most prominent things in my life. I like how I used the polaroid pictures because those polaroids are not just pictures, but also memories. I can look at them and remember exactly how I was feeling during that moment. This project used my creative thinking skills because I had to come up with a design to effectively demonstrate who I am. I decided to use the magnifying glass as a prop and I think it really added to the overall image. You can think of it as looking into my life. I have always considered myself a creative person, and I think this project is a great example of how you can take simple photos and turn it into a work of art.
