For one of my assignments in Leadership 11, I was asked to think about nine goals that I had for my future and present them to my class using a visual piece. I decided to use my creative thinking skills and create a vision board to represent what I want my life to look like one, five, ten years from now. This also worked on our personal awareness and responsibility core competency as we had to reflect on our lives and create reasonable goals for what we want to achieve. Our goals were focused on three factors: emotionally, personally, and academically. Dividing the goals up in these categories made it a lot easier to create a distinguished and achievable plan.
The applied ethics assignment was focused on the question: “what is ethically right vs wrong?” We were asked to find an article and analyze the facts and actions involved. This definitely used our critical thinking skills as we had to investigate and analyze the ethical issue and understand the different approaches that could have been taken.

The purpose of this assignment was to use our creative thinking skills to create a story book that demonstrates our understanding on Darwin’s theory of evolution. My partner, Ava, and I decided to use elephants and their trait for large floppy ears. We worked together to write the paragraphs of the story, create images, and construct a visually appealing story book. I really enjoyed this project and took the lead creatively by drawing the illustrations, stamping the letters for the headings, and putting the pages together. The assignment definitely expanded my knowledge on the theory of evolution which helped later on in the unit.
In Leadership, we obviously focus on the goal of becoming better leaders. For this assignment we had to think about what qualities we believe a good leader possesses. The qualities I chose were empathy, diligence, passion, and integrity. This project required us to critically think about different characteristics and relate them to an actual situation. I compared mine to a character in the movie Patch Adams.
