When I google my name, my Gmail account is the only thing that pops up. I think that having only my Gmail account popping up is not a bad thing, because it shows that I don’t have a bad digital footprint.

Question 1- How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities?
I think that if your digital footprint is unflattering to your image, it will show future jobs or universities about your private life, and things that may or may not be professional. This will show your future job what you what kind of person you are outside of your work enviorment.
If for example, you have pictures online of you drinking or doing drugs, this will make you seem unprofessional, and unfit for a a mature workplace.

Question 2- Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.
If you want to keep your digital footprint appropriate, make sure you only post professional photos, and photos that you would be fine with people who are trying to hire you seeing.
Make sure you know who’s following you, because your followers have access to your pictures. Make sure you know your followers are trustworthy.
Don’t let your friends tag you in pictures if they are unprofessional.

Question 3- What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling them?
I would tell fellow students to always be mature and professional online, because you never know who can see your posts. If it is your followers, your followers friends, or your followers followers (tagged posts), make sure the posts are professional.
