Refection

In my book report presentation, I used
Microsoft Powerpoint to help people visualize.
Although this program is not new and I have
used it previously, there were minor difficulties
with small things ex) deciding what to fill the
spaces with. The benefits of using Microsoft
Powerpoint is that it enables you to show
multiple pictures for visualization.
I was not required to reflect on who I am as
a person but I did learn that I was able to public
speak better than I had thought. Making eye contact
and speaking loud enough was always a problem for
me as I would get quite nervous but in this assignment,
I was able to pull my weight and do both. This changes
my view on how I will do in the future. I’ve always
wondered if there would ever be a time where I’d
speak up and do what’d I’d said, and now that time
has come. I believe that I will be continuing to do
this as the year passes. I was required to make
ethical judgments in my assignment when decision
making in the making. Putting the information and
having all the rubric requirements was hard. You
had to make smart decisions so the report would
flow because you were gonna have to share it out
loud. I learned that I was able to put everything
together faster than I thought. Working strategically,
I finished by sorting each thought, then put them
into sentences. I really thought that I wouldn’t
be able to get in between 3-5 minutes of writing
when I started, but as I progressed, things got easier.
I now appreciate public speakers a bit more because
although it may seem easy to stand there and talk,
it’s not. I definitely used core competencies for this
assignment, mostly communication, and some critical
thinking. Oral was a big part of this assignment and
we needed to persuade our peers to buy our book. I had
many ideas to exchange and it was tough but I was able
to do it. I used critical thinking as well, mentioned
in the above when writing my script.
