In English class this year I would like to learn how to create a proper essay, expand my vocabulary and when to use to, too, two, there, their, and they’re in the correct manner. Last year in English 9 I did not write one essay all year. So I am rusty and forget how to correctly write and essay. All I know is an essay contains an introduction, three body paragraphs and a conclusion paragraph. In the introduction paragraph of an essay you need to start with a hook sentence to get your readers attention. In grade 10 my vocabulary is not the best. I mostly use the same words over and over again in my writing. My vocabulary is slowly becoming bigger as I grow. I hope in English10 I can double or even triple my vocabulary. I know how to use to and two but not too. I haven’t learned the difference in school yet. Also their, there and they’re always gets me mixed up because of all the different situations in the language in English. Last year we did a lot of poetry and short stories not writing and little novel study. I need a little refreshment on all the different poetry types. I know lots of types of poetry types its the definition that makes me confused. Some types I know are: Sonnet, Haiku, Free Verse and Rhyme. In English 9 I mostly did projects instead of writing long essays and paragraphs.
