A Summary of My Day.
I really enjoyed take your kid to work day. I spent my day at the Port of Vancouver where my dad works. I essentially experienced a summary of jobs that happen at the port. There were around 9 other kids who where at the port for the day as well. So it felt like I was living my like my dad because all of our parents were in different departments, but they all work together. And that’s exactly how I spent my day, working with kids who have totally different association to me, but all with a common purpose. It was essentially a day at work, accept a generation younger. We spent some time understanding the port’s functions before shadowing our parents. The group and I got to go on a harbor patrol boat, as shown in the picture. On this boat ride, we got a rundown on the port’s more physical jobs. Most importantly, we got a really amazing view all the way through. I even got to steer the boat in the middle of our voyage. I spent the rest of the day shadowing my dad and meeting his coworkers, conclusively giving me a better idea of an office setting, and a better understanding of my dad’s job, and the Port of Vancouver in general.
