Water Cycle Comic

Reflection:

In order to complete this project, I mostly used creative thinking. I was able to create this comic building on the ideas that were inspired during a discussion with my friends. As well as exploring the material that was given to me. In the meantime, I was able to add my own unique thoughts while constructing.

This was a very fun and relaxing assignment for me because I am very passionate about art, which made everything easier for me. Even though I enjoyed it, I had a hard beginning on what I should do. So, I left it aside for a while and did some other artworks. I took my time to construct my plan in my head. Once I got started, everything went fairly well with new ideas popping in my head constantly. I also met some other difficulties along the way but I was able to solve them by reading through the materials that were given to me.

I really enjoy this assignment. To be able to perform the knowledge that I learned with skills that I am very passionate about is one of the best things in the world!

Animal Farm Video

Core Competence Reflection

For this assignment, we were asked to work as a group to create a poster as well as a campaign video for the election of the Animal Farm. We chose Old Benjamin as our candidates that we will be presenting. We will recall the parts from the book to look for good points about Benjamin and dirt on other animals. We split the work into different parts so everyone can participate. Jobs like brainstorming, script, costume, filming, editing, and poster making were given to everyone.

During this assignment, I showed communication skills while working with my teammates. While we were brainstorming for ideas, I was able to listen to the ideas of the others and was able to negotiate with them respectfully when I disagree. I told them that their ideas were great, but we could improve it better. Also, during the discussion, I could listen and mark down the information that could be helpful to my part of the work. I was able to present this information in the poster(the part that I was responsible for).

I also used critical thinking when I was evaluating and analyzing the information that I was given, which was the book Animal Farm. When I am reading through the book, I was able to identify the useful information and also to think about a solution to the information that is negative to our characters. The one thing I learned during this assignment is how different the influence can be when you word something in another way.

This assignment was my first time writing an essay. Though I had many troubles and confusions while I was writing and editing my essay, I eventually worked out some of these problems.

During this assignment, I mostly used creative and critical thinking to complete my essay. While I was brainstorming, I used creative thinking. I discussed with a few of my friends and asked their ideas like what kind of similarities and differences did they put in. This helped me to realize that I could observe the similarities and differences not just inside the stories but also how the author structured the stories.

When I was structuring the essay, I used critical thinking. I evaluated my materials to decide what is useful for me to use. After setting in the facts that I prepared to use, I would express my own opinion to add colors to my essay. Using the evidence to prove my points

I knew I didn’t do the best in this essay but I now have a better understanding of my own writing. I realize that I intend to write too much and it was a bit difficult to find the central focus in my writing. This assignment had improved me in different ways.

Personal Response (Genetic engineering)

During the past few years, genetic engineering has been the main focus in the field of science. Though I was not very interested in genetic engineering I still heard many things about it. It is fascinating what could be done with this technology. After learning about genetic engineering in class, I understand it better now. Though I am very much impressed with the advanced technology, I am in the main time very concerned and worried. I think it is very difficult to control in what purpose these technologies will be used by people. To think forward, how could we even control the use of this technology in the system? I think its also great risks to take. Would we be able to afford to take on the risks that the experiment might not work? When there could also be a long term effect that couldn’t be detected in a short time?

The area that I am most interested in is the Genetic Modified Organism (GMO). Where its basically snip a part of the gene from one organism and then plant in the gene of another organism. I learned many things about GMO after watching the video What is Genetic Modified food ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMPE5wlB3Zk) I learned that GMO food is actually no different than the naturally grown food. I think GMO a great use of genetic engineering technology. I think the concept its self is very interesting. We were able to change how things are so easily and fast. I do look forward to the future of the GMO. I am also very concerned about how we are going to maintain the balance in nature. I think making vegetation resistant to incest’s would be benefits for human beings but not insects. I think it is selfish under some circumstances. Breaking the living environment of organisms for the needs of our selves.

Current Lab- Sway

Reflection:

“How does the number of lightbulbs affect the current in series and parallel circuit?”

For this lab, we built series and parallel circuits with batteries, wires, ammeter and light bulbs. We experiment on how does the brightness and current differs in series and parallel circuit changes only changing the number of bulbs.

During this lab, I used communication and critical thinkings. I used communication when discussing with my team on how to construct our circuits and our conclusion at the end. We communicated to decide everyone’s roles while doing the sway. Critical thinking took an important part during this assignment. When we are planning procedures and brainstorming elements of the lab. Also when constructing circuits and recording our data after the lab. Especially when we are making the sway.
