I picked critical thinking in this podcast this project, I critically thought in many different ways. I made some questions for my group and critically thought them through. I had to think about if the question would make sense and once answered if the question would be fully understood.
I chose soccer as my extracurricular activity to talk about. Soccer is a very important part of my life. I have only played soccer for 4 years but I already have made so many memories. I have made so many friends that have grown with me during our soccer years. When I moved up a level most of my soccer friends moved with me and we are still on the same team. Soccer is a passion of mine and all around my favorite sport. It has impacted my life in many ways when I’m playing soccer I forget about everything going on around me. Soccer is so special to me I love the creative and competitive factor it brings to my life.
My soccer team is like a family to me. We are all so close in a different way than any of my other friends. A very important game I remember was in my second year of soccer. It was the last game of the season and we were playing for first place in the league. We started the game off well as a team but the other team was better. They scored but that motivated us to play better. We got a goal and we were so happy. The whole game my teammates and I were just motivating each other to do better. Second half our goalie got injured, we didn’t have a backup goalie and no one wanted to go in net so I volunteered even though I have never played goalie in my life. They shot a couple of times and I saved all those shots! We ended the game tied so off we went to a penalty shootout. We lost the shootout by one goal but we acted as if we won because of how well we came together and played an awesome game against the best team on the league. We all came together after that game and talked about the best moments we had that season and that’s the moment I realized how important soccer was to me and how much it changed my life for the better.
I would love to keep playing soccer in the future. I hope to move to higher levels to get more competitive and keep improving my skills. Soccer is a sport that I hope to never stop playing even if it’s just with some friends at a park. My whole family likes to play and watch soccer so my brother and I often go play soccer with friends and I hope we keep doing that in the future.
