I used social responsibility to relate to the story. The girls all had to group together and fight for what they could rightfully do, they were just as strong as the boys, why couldn’t they do the same tasks? I related to this because throughout my life teachers want “4 strong boys” to lift a cafeteria table, or told us that girls need to focus more on school because we could never get a sports job. Girls are being told we aren’t the same as boys, we can’t do the same tasks or jobs as boys. we grow up knowing that we can do twice the work and still get payed the same as guys. This is an important story because it shows girls grouping together and fighting for what they want, not caring about what the boys say. They wanted something and because they fought for it, and didn’t listen to anyone else now they can do the simple task of bringing a water bucket to class, what they should have been able to do years ago. I relate to this because its something we should all do, children don’t see the differences between genders, colours, ethnicity, etc.. they see a person as a person, when we start to grow up you start to notice that if you’re not the majority you don’t have the same rights and you don’t have the same responsibilities. what if everyone read this story? what if everyone joined together and fought for what they wanted to see in the world? why complain about something you’re not ready to fight for? I learned how to make a tagxedo during this assignment, in elementary school we used to make these in computer class, but I didn’t know that was what it was called. for next time, to better my work/response I think I would change the colours of my tagxedo, maybe finish my reflection completely on time. in a whole I feel as if I’ve done an okay job on this assignment, but my reflection is lacking of needed points. I also used creative and critical thinking, to create the tagxedo I needed to answer the questions to add onto it, I also needed to be creative by choosing shapes, colours, etc… for the most part I feel as if I succeeded in this project, other than handing part of it late, I feel proud in what I’m handing forward, and the core competencies that attached to my assignment.
