Creative Thinking Reflection:

In my project with Nicole, we had to think of different uses for our object. We ended up rejecting our first idea, which was an object that allows you to understand what animals are saying. We realized that our first idea wasn’t necessarily the right idea. After thinking and rejecting many other ideas, we decided on our final one: an alien space shuttle door opener. We used creative thinking to come up with our plot, since thinking creatively was a large part of the project. If we had kept our first idea, our story would have been very different. We had to push ourselves to come up with more.

Reflection: Working on the project involved a lot of creative thinking. We had to figure out how to bring down the other candidates while making ours sound good. We used communication too, but mostly creative thinking. It took a while to think about what we could say and what we could put on the poster to make it sound convincing. We needed to convince the entire class to vote for our character, Boxer and it took creative thinking to figure that out. Overall, I think we did pretty good.

Writing this poem used a lot of creative thinking. At first, I had no idea what to write about. None of the pictures “inspired” me. I eventually decided that maybe I shouldn’t write a deep and meaningful poem, but instead I should write a silly poem. I found a picture of something I thought was a doll, but later realized was the mascot for “Big Boy Restaurants.” I thought he looked a bit creepy in the picture and decided that I could write a poem describing him. I really had to think hard about this assignment because I’m not very good at writing poetry.
