A Mid Summer Night’s Dream Act 2 Scene 1 Reenacting

Reflection:

For the English project, I feel like I mainly used communication to share ideas, give suggestions and help contribute in the reenactment. I had fun taking part in the project. I also helped correct typos at certain points when there was one part of the script which was confusing and helped fix it so that it made sense. I also let the group know when I started timing the script so that we could rehearse and see how long it was. I also said how long the script took to rehearse so that we could see if there was anything that needed to be fine-tuned.

I also used Personal Awareness and Responsibility because I was very glad with how the results for the acting turned out, and I felt like the entire project was completely successful, and I was so happy about that.

Water Cycle Comic

Core competency reflection:

I feel I used creative thinking when adding some humour to the comic. For example, when Droppy turned back into a droplet after the evaporation stage, she questioned why she felt wet, and realized it’s because she became a droplet again. I thought this idea was very funny, so I decided to add it into the comic.

I also used critical thinking to write down the facts and draw them in the cycle (mainly drawing). For example, when Droppy hollered, “I’M FALLING!” I was drawing and showing what precipitation is.

I think I could have added more details and gone a bit more creative with the plot line. Anyhow, I thought that this comic was an accomplishment, as normally I tell what is happening rather than showing it. I still wrote the stages down, but I didn’t explain with words. I explained with pictures.

Core competencies:

I think I mainly used creative thinking to write my short story, because I had to come up with ideas on how the story goes, including the concept of the characters (although I will admit, not much personality is known about the characters), and a little bit of magic. I also used critical thinking to come up with real life situations that happen to put in the story.

Current Lab

Reflection:

During the current lab, my group and I used critical thinking to create a hypothesis that would possibly make sense. Knowing that light bulb also has resistance, we thought that the series circuit would have a low current, and the same would apply to the parallel circuit. I also used communication with my group so that we can work together and plan out how we are going to do the experiment, and figure out how we were going to make the circuit. We also used communication to discuss and confirm our hypothesis, and to also make sure we all know what we are going to write during the lab. This includes observations, our hypothesis, procedure and conclusion.

My Flag Project

I did a mixture between the Canada Flag and the flag of Iran. The reason why Most of the flag is replicating the flag of Canada is because it is where I was born, and it’s my home, and I put that part of the Iranian flag because my parents and all my family members were born in/from Iran. So I am pretty much a Persian decent.

Reflection:

I think that the core competencies I mainly focused on were Positive Personal and Cultural Identity. The reason for this was because the project mainly focused on my background/culture and it was basically talking about my identity a bit. I think that the flag I drew made it clear what my background was. It shown pretty clearly (at least for me) that I was a Persian decent. What I could have done to make this better was by possibly talking a bit more about my drawing and background. I feel I also did good using creative thinking, as it helped me to come up with a unique and interesting flag.

Other question (s):

None

Student Reflections:

  1. Give three reasons why you would like this job (be specific):

a) I enjoy helping too, and I get to help lots of people

b) I can have financial security if I succeed in the practice

c) I don’t have to follow a certain schedule, because I can pick my own hours.

2. Give three reasons why you would not like this job (be specific):

a) High legal liability

b) Having so much to do in so little time with all the deadlines

c) I may have to force myself to work more hours than I want to

3. Is this job for you? Why or why not?

It isn’t really for me because I can’t handle the stress that can happen in this job knowing myself, and even though I can have my own schedule, sometimes I have to force myself to change the schedule to more hours of work, and I could get extremely weary by the end of the day. I also run the risk of possibly getting sued.

  1. Explain the value of the TYKTW experience in relation to your ideas about your post secondary (after high school) plans (education?, training?, travel?, work?).

I have observed what my mom does for her job as a notary, and I am not really interested in becoming one, so if I don’t become a notary public, I won’t need to study for the requirements to become a notary public.

I still had fun coming to my mom’s work place.

Here is the document for TYKTW2018 including everything above and a bit more:
