-Megan makes cost reviews on new buildings being developed (construction). 

-She also estimates cost for renovation. 

• What are the duties and/or tasks you perform at your job? 

-Prepare cost estimates. 

-Maintain cost data base 

• What qualifications do you have for this job in the following areas?

-Work experience in different companies (cost consultant, developer in cost estimates, contractor in restoration).

-Designation as Quantity Surveyor

-Very good at numbers and detail coordinated.

-Being a part of the community plan. 

-Involvement with the city 

-Different projects that are non-repetitive (more challenging)

-kept indoors in office, doesn’t get to go on site like in previous jobs. 

• How do you anticipate this job changing in the next 5 years or so? 

-Being part of an entire project, not just inquiry 

-Getting more involved 

-Longer time on role leads to seeing whole project through.

1. Is this job for you? Why or why not? 

I’m more of a guy that can’t stay still in his seat so I don’t think an office environment with numbers would suit me. 

1. Explain the value of the TYKTW experience in relation to your ideas about your post-secondary (after high school) plans (education? training?, travel?, work?). 

The TYKTW experience is valuable to a student’s ideas about post-secondary education because it gives a kid better insight on what things go on in the world that they may have never thought about.
