Socials Studies Recruitment Poster

Critical Thinking Reflection:

This Recruitment poster was a very fun personal and team experience with my partner Jade, we learnt a ton of information about the HBC company and the rivalry between HBC and NWC. The most critical thinking parts of this assignment would have been discussing who is going to print the photos and who is doing certain sections of information. Also knowing where to get the information needed for the assignment was a difficult task, because we had to make sure we could trust certain sites and use them for truthful and correct information. Learning all the ways of how HBC worked and ran their business was very fascinating, we had to think of how much the workers would’ve gotten payed and the conditions they’d work in it was difficulty to come up with these things because of how much money they made compared to how much we make now is a huge difference.

Core Competency:    Communication
In this project we used communication the most, we used it to share our ideas as a group, helped us get the project done faster and made things easier for all of us. When we were brainstorming for ideas, it was everyone talking at once and when one person said ok guys lets have one person at a time and we can vote for the best idea in the end. It helped us move along faster and get ahead. One thing I could improve on was making sure my ideas were heard by other group members. It was a fun project that involved a lot of communication and editing.

This skit video about the American Revolution was a very fun assignment yet difficult task.
My group members and I got our own props and used our surroundings to the best of out ability.
we all got clothing to fit the part and we went in the forest to use our surroundings as a skit room and we were running around as if there was a war happening in the moment. We really tried to use our imagination and creativity so we used everything we could.

Hey, I’m Noa and here’s a little bit about me. Listening to music is my everything I always have my earbuds in i rarely ever am not listening to music. I listen to music for many reasons. It helps me relax and it’s something that helps me get away and express how I’m feeling. I love playing soccer, I’ve played soccer since i was 4 years old. Soccer is something I’ve always enjoyed playing, it also helps me express myself and release any toxic emotions. Sports, is a very important part of my life, Im very passionate about Track and Field I’ve been doing track for about 5 years and Im excited to join the track team in Heritage this year.

This quote I feel like i can relate too because i find myself always going down hill even more when something negative happens in my life, and I don’t always pick myself back up right away. And I think many people can relate to this quote because its not always easy to keep yourself strong in a difficult time of life.

This is one of the most interesting videos I’ve ever, no spoilers but (Golden pizza.) It was interesting to see these simple pizza’s for such a high amount of money. They go to three different places starting off with regular pizza to 100$ pizza to 2000$ pizza its crazy, it looks so delicious.

Youtube would have to be my favourite website because youtube has access to show you anything you want, I’ve learnt many things from all the videos I’ve watch from youtube. Learning how to cook certain foods, knowing about any news around the world, begin able to watch entertainment videos for fun and etc.

Core Competency: Creative Thinking

This poem really made me think outside fo the box, and I really got deep and into it. I did my best for the poem to be as descriptive as possible so you are really able to imagine as if you were there witnessing everything the mother wolf did for her cubs. I used a lot fo creative thinking because, I myself tried to imagine i was there so the readers could really feel everything the mother was doing for her cubs.

Alternate Assignment/Take Your Child to Work Day

 

  1. Describe your first two months at Heritage Woods. Have your first two months met your expectations? Why or why not? List and describe in detail three pieces of advice that you might offer to students of your former middle school who are entering Heritage next year? (Include images to assist you in explaining your points.

 

My first two months at Heritage have been very interesting and different from what I thought high school was going to be like. My expectations for high school were never really that high to me it’s just school but so far, I’d say Heritage is a great school. I would tell other students that they better be ready for high school because it’s much more difficult than high school and to constantly be on top of the ball when it comes to handing in assignments. Also, to remember you’ll be uncomfortable at first because being the youngest in the school again and at the bottom of the grades around all these bigger kids can be intimidating so be prepared.

 

 

  1. Describe your ideal school in a post – what would you change from what you have experienced to date at Heritage Woods? What would the building look like, the courses offered and the style of learning – do you like the present style or would you like more choice? Include images to help you explain your points.

 

Personally, I’m not a fan of how Heritage Woods Secondary is made of all stone and its grey it seems very cold and isolated. The school itself is great, the kids and teachers are really kind but, on thing I’m not a fan of is the way a lot of the teachers teach. To me it seems very basic and boring it doesn’t attract my attention much therefore not paying as much attention.

 

  1. Research a career that you are interested in pursuing in the future. Why are you passionate about this career and what does the work entail? What qualifications and/or education will you need to pursue this career? Include images to help you explain your points.

 

One career that I’ve been thinking a little bit about would be becoming an actor, I know it’s a very difficult job to even begin with or get anywhere with but, I’ve been doing background work for a few years and I’ve been in a few TV series here and there. I know I’d need to go to acting school, get more practice, and then try and become known but for now it’s just a thought.
