Good Place

My most favourite character in this story is “Chidi”, because he’s a really good and kind person, he tried to convince Eleanor to tell the truth to Michael instead of telling Michael by himself. He always helps Eleanor, even he doesn’t have to, and he always thinks positive. My least favourite character is Eleanor because she knows that she doesn’t suppose to be in the Good Place but she still keeps lying. Instead of trying to be a better person, she still be the same. She doesn’t care anyone but only herself.

I found the two ironic points that were mentioned in this episode. The first one is verbal irony, as when Michael showed Eleanor the clown pictures, Eleanor said that she really loved the clowns, but in fact she hates them. The another irony is dramatic irony, when everything outside are ruined. The audience knows that are the effect from Eleanor’s behaviours.

The main idea that being made about our society of human nature was being a good person guides you to the good place, and being a bad person guides you to the bad place after you died. At the beginning of this episode, Michael explains Eleanor how nice the Good Place is and how can people be there. Every people in the Good Place are the people that did the good things when they were alive, and they were selected to be there. Janet also shows us a bit of how terrible the Bad Place is.

The characters in this story are all natural and the story is quite easy to follow and understand. I’ve learned many things from this episode, not only about life, but also the new words. There were few words and phrases that I haven’t seen or heard before. I really enjoyed the episode, I think it was an interesting and entertaining TV show.
