About Me

My name is Rachel Smith and I just turned 14 on August 16th.  I am excited to try out for the grade 9 basketball, volleyball and tennis teams.  I am looking forward to making new friends and strong relationships.  I live with my parents and up until recently my brother, Sawyer Smith, who graduated with the HWSS class of 2018 last year and is now in Halifax attending St. Mary’s University.  My kitten is half munchkin and half polydactyl with fluffy white fur.  Last year I graduated from grade 8 at Eagle Mountain Middle School.  I am hoping to get involved with KWAP and put energy towards helping others.  I tend to be happy, energetic, excited, positive and friendly!  I am looking forward to my Gr. 9 year as a Kodiak at Heritage Woods Secondary School!

In some of my free time I will go on YouTube and watch “DAZ watches” videos and my favorite video would probably fall under his YouTube channel.  Therefore my favorite video is,

I like this video because it’s really funny and it exposes Jacob Sartorius in a way.  Watching this video just brings smiles to the table and makes me and my friends laugh so hard that tears come to our eyes.  One of the reasons I find it hilarious is because all of the comments DAZ makes are valid points, and the concept of the video is just so stupid that you can laugh at it.

I have gone on quite a few websites in my life and the one I like the most is https://www.ellentube.com/.  I enjoy this website because it is funny, educational, inspirational and happy.  When I go on this website I can find out all sorts of information, learn about people around the world and listen to stories that are very interesting and can have a bit of a twist to them.  I can get involved with different organizations and find out causes that I am interested in that I can donate to.  This website has definitely been a good website for me to go on when I’m bored or just want to learn something new.

It’s a dream of mine to visit Bora Bora and stay in one those magical, thatched huts over the water that look like they are out of a story book.  I imagine myself paddleboarding over the clear, pristine, turquoise waters like the ocean shown in this image that I frequently view.  Bora Bora has a permanent spot on my travel bucket list.  It also reminds me of my recent visit to Western Australia where I had the opportunity to swim with whale sharks and wild dolphins in similar waters.

My favourite quote is definitely, “It always seems impossible until it is done”, Nelson Mandela.  This quote is important to me because it is such an empowering, inspirational, and encouraging statement that has propelled me through tough times.   It also reminds me to never give up and renews my determination to try my best.  When I think of the sacrifices that Nelson Mandela made to support his cause,  it reassures me how important it is to take a stand for what you believe in.

  1. Rachel, I really like how you have integrated various media (video, images, links) into your post. You have done a very good job constructing your page and commenting about yourself and your interests whilst still being mindful of your online presence. Good work.
