Similar to Business 9, students attending Marketing 11 was to create a business selling products (not including food), for two days in school to reflect on their knowledge in which they absorbed throughout the course so far. For the project to result in a good outcome, promotional, ethical, and marketing related experience will be essential for this project. Creative thinking was a big part of the Christmas Fair Project as you had to come up with a logo, slogan, company name, what products to sell, and many more. Critical thinking was also used to decide how to get a sponsorship, where to set up your stand, how many you should buy, how should your products be priced, etc. Since this project is a group project, communication skills were also needed to share ideas with your other group members, but to also communicate to decide each member’s roles. Positive Personal and Cultural Identity, Personal Awareness and Responsibility, and Social Responsibility were also used of being aware of what to sell, the wording used to promote your business, and many things to take into consideration. Overall, this project allowed students to use their basic knowledge of the world of business and to use that in real life; at the same time, know what it feels like.
